The story was short and sweet, and it was enough to lull Kyo to sleep. He did try to stay up, but his eyelids became heavy and he felt himself practically losing sense of the world around him. With a soft yawn, he let his eyes close so he could sleep. He did manage to hear the end of the story, at least.

Gikishou smiled and tucked him in a little more comfortably, kissing his still feverish forehead. "Sweet dreams." He told him softly before heading down to have some soup made for him, and to snag a small snack for himself. He made sure to be up and at Kyo's side the moment he woke up, however.

Kyo woke up perhaps a few hours later, and the sun was still quite high up in the sky. His fever had gone down quite significantly, enough so that he could stand and walk if he wanted to. But he still felt a bit fatigued and just stayed where he was. Just a few more moments of rest will do, he thought to himself.

Gikishou checked his temperature and sighed in relief. "Good, your fever is going down. I brought some food up, so please eat once you have enough energy." He told him, gently but firmly. Eating would help him get better, and he was already worried about how little his crush was eating even when he was healthy.

"Um... But I'm not really..." Before Kyo could say anything else, a low rumbling sound erupted from under the covers. His face immediately turned red and he pulled the sheets over his face to hide. "I swear, that thing has a mind of its own!" he muttered to himself.

Gikishou chuckled and pulled the covers back down, kissing his cheek. "Because it's trying to tell you something. You're good with science right? What happens if your body doesn't get all the stuff it needs? It gets weak and starved for food. That's probably why you got sick so easily. your body is trying to tell you that it needs nourishment. If you want, I'll feed you myself, bite by bite." He told him, picking the soup up and prepared to feed him.

Kyo's face turned even more red, if that was possible. "I-i-i-it's fine! Y-you don't have to!" he stuttered, pulling the sheets over him again. "I'm reeeeaaally tired and I think I should just go back to sleep." He could feel the threatening movements of his stomach muscles getting ready to growl once more, and he prayed that they were nothing.

Gikishou frowned. "At least eat a bit before you go to sleep." He really was worried about Kyo, no matter how cute it was when he blushed and stuttered. He wanted Kyo to get better, and he didn't want him to become malnourished.

Kyo sighed and poked his head out from under the covers. "Fine, fine," he said, just wanting to get this over with. He opened his mouth a little, in case Giki-san still planned to feed him.

Gikishou chuckled and began to feed him, soon holding an empty bowl. Now that his worries had been addressed, he kissed his forehead. "Good. Now, I'll be right back. You can go ahead and rest now." He headed downstairs and washed the dishes before returning to the room.

Kyo closed his eyes and waited for sleep to come to him. He was feeling much more comfortable now, perhaps because he had just eaten. A whole day of school missed... What kinds of work did he miss out on learning?

Gikishou sighed when he heard the phone ring. "Probably the school letting us know that we're absent. I'll answer and explain that you were sick and I was taking care of you. With how studious you are, they'll definitely believe that you're sick, even if they might not believe that I'm here to look after you." He went down and answered the phone, explaining the situation. When they asked to hear him, he sighed. "This phone has a cord, but call my cell and I'll take it up to him. He needs to be resting right now instead of trying to walk."

It was one of these times that Kyo was glad he was considered a good student. He just hoped that at some point the school would believe that Giki-san was as well. There will be one day, but for now they would have to work on gaining the school's trust.

The school took his word for it, convinced that he was really looking after Kyo, and agreed to make their absences excused. He hung up and rejoined Kyo, smiling. "There. Our absence is excused." He told him, kissing his forehead.

"That's good to hear," Kyo said, smiling a little bit. He then turned his head to look outside. "What day is it? I'm having trouble keeping track of the time." School had probably started just a few weeks ago, but so much had happened that it seemed like forever.
