Even though Gaston had likely broken some sort of speed record by getting this far this quickly, he felt like he'd been dragging his feet the entire way. Great was his relief when the navigational system beeped a reminder. "Finally!"
He activated his comm system. "Blackbird 2S-4708 to BHQ, I am over the insertion point. Ready to activate slave link."
"Slave link is activated." Came the response just before the controls started shifting slightly, now obeying commands of a Balance controller. "We have control. Go for insertion."
Gaston checked to make sure the smallish backpack was securely tethered to him, took one last look at the GPS coordinates, and yanked the SR-71's ejection handles. Immediately, the front cabin's canopy was sent flywing away by a number of small rockets, then the charge under Gaston's seat fired, throwing him out of and clear of the Blackbird. Now in free fall, a small stability chute opened, getting the pilot to a safe orientation and slowing his decent slightly. When a pressure meter read he had fallen to 15000 feet, the main chute opened, allowing Gaston to glide to an easy landing in a park several minutes later.
Moving quickly, even though no one was about this time of night, Gaston detached himself from the harnesss, gathering up the used parachute and stuffing it into a trash cahn. Reaching into a pocket of his flight suit, he opened a packet of thick liquid and poured it into the can. The parachute started to sizzle and pop as it dissolved, leaving behind a residue that would look as if some drunk person had gotten sick there.
At this point, Gaston appeared normal enough...the dark blue Balance flightsuit and vintage RAF jacket from World War II making him appear to be a private pilot getting off shift. The tubular air bladders down the side of the suit, oriignially meant to equalize pressure now served as a nifty sheath for his wakizashi, a shorter version of a katana that matched his tanto. Inside a shoulder holster under his jacket, Gaston secreted away a 50 Caliber Desert Eagle pistol with four extra clips. That done, he slung the small backpack over his shoulder and left the park.
Walking easily down the city streets, he wouldn't have seemed too suspicious. Just an upstanding citizen out late, but not yet unreasonably so. A short time later, he came up the street where Joe's stood. The multiple buzz he received as he approached the place letting him know the others were waiting.
Given the stressful evening, Gaston chose to call MacLeod and announce himself before he would have been in full view of the bar. "Hey...it's me. Figured you all would appreciate not being surprised."

MacLeod sheparded his little Immortal flock through the bar's back entrance, where Joe met them. The Watcher cast Matthew a curious glance, immediately recognizing him from his chronicle, before leading the way in to the closed bar.
"Phoenix," he said with a relieved smile, "I'm glad to see you're in one piece. Mac, where's Adam?"
"A bunch of armed men took him from us," Mac said tightly. "Matthew Bloodturn--" He indicated the young man in gothy garb, "was looking after Adam and Phoenix. He says Adam's lost his memory."
Joe's eyes widened. "All of it?"
MacLeod's cell rang. "Come on in, Gaston," Mac said, answering it. He motioned to Booth to open the front door for the incoming Immortal.
The kid mock-groused as he got to his feet. "What did your last slave die of?"

Kali about choked trying to not laugh, she was back to sitting off to the side, watching looking rather amused, who only knew if she really was or not though. She even manged to behave and not pull her gun on Luana this time around.
Luana had stopped stunned on hearing about Methos losing his memory, cutting a look to Matthew before looking back to Duncan, easily sharing Joe's shock on that, that was a lot of memory to lose.
Standing utterly silent was phoenix, well at lest till she went to sit, only offering a weak smile to Joe, nothing more.
Finally Luana manged to find her tongue, "How did he lose his memory?" She skipped over the part about Gaston, she'd met him, he was an odd one, but that hardly mattered to her at the moment.

"Well, er, was out by the river meditating trying to think of ways to help birdy chick," he liked calling her that for some reason, mainly because a person with the name Phoenix was a bit odd to him, "When this dude walked out of the river freezing to death, that's about it." Nice, short simple, to the point, he liked it, he even gave a grin. So he was in a room with more immortals than he had ever met in his time, but hey, it was all good, hopefully, better be, at which point if it wasn't he wouldn't have a choice to hep out peoples again or not.

There was silence from Luana, what was there to say, given she didn't know why Methos was in the river the explanation did her no good, softly she went to ask just that, "May I ask if anyone knows why M-Adam was in the water?" She was sounding annoyed at the end of the sentence, she had slipped, badly, she never did that, she really was stressed then.
Well since Phoenix had a way to talk she scribbled a simple 'thanks' on the pad and tilted it to show Booth, not that she knew his name, though oddly she had at lest traded a few words with everyone else. She was people friendly, what could she say?She didn't have anything to add to the conversation as of far, she didn't know what all was going on to be truthful, she had spend the last day pretty much sitting in a corner of Mat's hotel room, where she was half wishing she was now.
"Oh that's easy, fight on a pier, he was outnumbered, still kicked their asses, as too much pretty a** lights and swimming he did go." That lovely comment was Kalika, just because she was feeling left out so she had to say something.

Adam woke with a choking start when the leader of the horsemen in his dream threw a dagger straight into his heart. He was breathing rapidly, panting in the dark of a swaying vehicle, with the ghost of a tremendous headache fading away. He felt groggy, fuzzy around the edges, and barely reacted when a man laughed near by.
"Shadow Fox is awake," the voice noted.
"Not for long," another voice said, and a boot caught Adam in the ribs.
Adam grunted in surprise and pain as a third voice said, "Lay off, Red. That's what this stuff is for."
Adam struggled as his arm was grabbed, realizing that his sweatshirt was gone and he was handcuffed so tightly his hands were numb. "I took a bullet getting this sucker," Red's voice groused. "I think he owes me a bit back."
A needle slid into Adam's arm as his current attacker said, "Later."
Adam fought it, but a moment later he had slipped back into blackness. A blackness where two red eyes glowed malevolently out at him.
