Argyle was not a patient Tlahuelpuchi. Not at the beginning of this adventure, not now, not ever.
He was willing to do anything for Selene, but this was kind of starting to seem like it was less of a favor for her, and more of a favor for the students, who were very obviously drowning in gross incompetence and rampant ignorance.
But he persevered, because this was for Selene. He clutched the steering wheel and waited, and waited, and--
The vehicle slammed into one wall, stopped briefly, then slammed into another.
Yeah.
No.
Backpack in hand, he hopped out of the ATV and fished in his 'inventory' until he found the Helix Fossil piece. Muttering to himself all the while, he turned it over in his palm, then smashed it abruptly into the artifact.
There.

Once the fossil was in place, it shone with a brilliant, eye searing light, which temporarily blinded anyone looking at the screen. Once the black dots faded out of eyesight, it was clear that the fossil was now happily embedded into it's artifact bed, ready to be used. And ready to be consulted!
Selene inched closer, leaning up to the screen and staring with wide, enchanted eyes at the beautiful sight. Her little hand reached out, running her fingers along the flickering image, and she sighed.
She missed field work. Not until that moment did she realize just how much.
"Bring me closer, Argy!" She whispered, waiting for him to carry the camera over to the artifact. Then, in her most authoritative voice, she decided to be the first to test it's mighty, legendary powers.
"Oh legendary Helix Fossil, please, guide us in your infinite wisdom! What should we do next?"
The artifact answered:
Confused, Selene tried again. "But if not now, when?"
Her face pinched with annoyance. "What kind of answers are these?"
It seemed like the legendary Helix Fossil Artifact was nothing more than a glorified 8 ball.
Selene spent another few seconds just staring, tears threatening to fall, before turning around and sucking in a deep breath. "Well, we've accomplished our goals together, students, and you.. you all did an amazing job. I have some souvenirs for you.. I don't want them anymore."
She opened up a bag and dumped out a whole mess of tiny little Helix Fossils onto her desk, abandoning them - and all of her research. "So ummm.. take one please! And you were all truly amazing. I'm very proud of you!" She sniffed, and wiped her eyes with her arm. "Class dismissed."
Quote: It looks like class is over, and accomplished at that. No homework this time, but please post your exit with your MINIPET SN so you can receive your souvenir from the class as long as you sent at least one command in anytime during the class! If you haven't reached 800 words, you're free to continue to RP if you need to.
Anyone who reached 800 words gets a total maximum of 3 points for this being a GM'd Class! Thanks for playing!

Needle heard the tone of Selene's voice, and her heart went out to the professor. Whatever happened must have been incredibly disheartening...but, sadly, that was how life went. She stayed where she was, near Maple, as Muka went off to claim whatever the teacher had put out. She knew Muka would grab one for her, too; he was a sweet Monster, and she loved him for it.
"This was exciting! Was it not?" She turned a smile down to Maple, and when Muka returned, she leaned in to nuzzle into his beard. "Thank you, screecheart."

In fear of pressing the start button once again, Erebus had simply set the controller on his table and watched as his fellow students guided the ATV through the maze, and through battles with minipets. Erebus had never really been fond of fighting, even though he himself had been forced into battles in the past and had done decently well against enemies... though in other times, he had fallen to enemies he thought he could take on as well. Watching the minipets faint made him quite uncomfortable and Erebus squirmed in his seat, all while remembering the time he had blacked out as a result of a battle. It certainly wasn't a great feeling, and he did hope that those minipets would recover when they awoke again. Would they be alright? He certainly thought that Lady, his own bakekitsune, would be quite offended if she were to be knocked out by another just to get ahead.
...Though now that he thought about it, he was pretty sure Lady would have no qualms in taking down anything that got in her way. For a regal looking bakekitsune that always seemed so poised, she certainly had some fire to her. Lady never tolerated it if he overslept and had even nudged him to prom once, giving him an extremely offended look when he had tried to explain to her that he didn't do well in social situations.
He was snapped out of his reverie when Selene squeaked happily, and raised his eyes to his monitor. Bcoak? What? Did he just miss something here? That was the name the rest of them had picked?
He wasn't really much in a position to judge; Erebus was terrible at names and had taken weeks to actually name Lady, but Bcoak was pretty unusual. It sounded frog-like, and the Poms certainly didn't look like one, nor resemble any frog creatures he had read about. But at least this minipet hadn't fainted?
Maybe he should have been paying more attention and help pick a better name. Even as that thought came to mind, Erebus found that he couldn't think of any decent names for the pom either.
Sigh.
But they had done it! Well, most of the other students had done it. All he had done was to stall the vehicle and then maybe set it back on its path again. Maybe this class was some sort of social experiment, because Erebus was sure that Argy could probably drive without the help of many students who had managed to crash him into many walls and even stalled the car-- who even installed that function anyway?
Was this Helix Fossil really such an amazing artifact?
.........
.....................
It wasn't even giving the Professor any useful answers.
In fact, Erebus wasn't even sure that this were even proper answers; it didn't even seem to pay the Professor's questions any heed. Watching Selene deflate as she came to the conclusion that their journey had pretty much been... not what she had expected, made him feel sorry for the Professor. He wondered if it was appropriate to maybe pat her comfortingly on the shoulder, and as he sidled up to her to pick up a small helix fossil, Erebus gave the Professor a smile and a small pat on her hand.
"Thank you for the class, Professor." Maybe that would make her feel better.

She had been pressing a few buttons with hesitation but when it looked like the game was getting a little more intense - like when there were more battles, and some of the minis were not winning - Maple put the controller down on the desk and stopped. She was probably not helping in any sort of way and figured it for the best. So, the young witch simply watched as the other students pressed on with the journey. Though, there were times she was tempted to maybe try inputting some commands again, but that thought didn't last long and she found herself more than happy to slump in her seat and stare at the screen. Everyone was doing so much better. They had even caught that powerful mini.
And gotten to the Helix Fossil.... thing. Even with a few needed tries. Only to have it give some seemingly less than desirable responses. Maple glanced at Miss Selene and than back to a few of the other students and frowned.
"Y-yes..." The witch replied to Needle, picking her frown into a weak little smile, "It g-got p-pretty int-tense there for a b-bit..." And not being one to get in the way of others, the ghoul stood and picked her books back up into her arms.
"It was n-nice... m-meeting you t-two, thank you f-for.. d-dragging me along." Class was over, she could leave. Maple gave the pair a small bow of her head and made her way out. Picking up one of the little fossils along the way.
- - - - - -
For the most part, Olivia had been pressing the A button. Tansy had instructed her to, after all, telling her it was the best button. What it was actually doing, she wasn't exactly sure. They had lost some, they had been going along some and they had even caught a mini along the way. Which didn't seem to be too bad. So, maybe it really was helping.
"Is this how this game ends?" Olivia turned to where Andrew was supposed to be, once the ordeal with the Helix Fossil was over. Miss Selene didn't sound to happy. But the boil wasn't there to respond. Nor was Tansy when she decided to try her luck with the cat ghoul that had been sitting in front of her. Sadness, friends had already left which didn't leave much else for her to do but leave herself. So she got out of her seat and made for the front of the room.
"Thank you for the class," she smiled to Selene while she took one of the fossils (yay, things!) and then turned towards the door.
