[Kaoru Takeshi]

The elevator comes to a stop at the ground floor, and Kaoru and Flame exchange looks before the doors open. Pressed against the sides of the elevator, the doors open and they carefully look out at the bedlam before them. People are running everywhere, screaming that L had been taken. Some were just standing, stupefied, not sure what they should be doing.

Kaoru comes out and uses his position with the company to bring some sort of order to the chaos.

"Everyone! Listen to me! I need this building locked down immediately! I'm going to track that helicopter! No one leaves, is that understood? Clean this mess up!" He nods at Flame to follow him and they head to the front door, where they're stopped by the security guard, who is refusing to let them leave so easily.

*Seeing the nightmare unfolding as the elevator doors open, she stays to the shadows as Kaoru begins issuing orders. She pulls the knife from her boot and slips up through the shadows, coming out just behind the guard. She neatly slices his throat just under his collar and pulls him roughly away from the boys, giving them opportunity to slip past him and out the door.*

The elevator opening, Kat and the Russian hit the ground running, heading straight for the SUV. Jumping in the passenger side, she pulls her handgun out of her jacket pocket and tosses her rifle case into one of the back seats. The SUV pulls out of the garage, and heads to the front of the building to pick up Kaoru and Flame. Kat clicks off the safety on her gun and holds it against her leg.

Just as he was about to pull rank on the guard, he sees Brat come out of nowhere and dipose of him. As they head out the door, the SUV pulls up and they climb inside with barely enough time to shut the doors before the Russian takes off again.

The SUV takes off down the street, headed in a circuituous route to the airport, just in case they're being followed.

*Still seething that the escorts to assist them out of the building had not been forthcoming putting both men in jeopardy, she sits in the SUV ready to slice the next fool who thinks to double-cross her. At least they'd escorted Kat out and she's sitting in the vehicle. As they take a zigzagged path to the airport, she eyes the driver, red eyes blazing.*

Taking the earwig out and the mike off, she turns around in the passenger seat to look at the others.

"Ya'll all right? I was hoping nothing too major would go down."

((Bratty looks scary! gonk xd ))

((At least her hair isn't in flames, yet. twisted ))  

[Kaoru Takeshi]

He sits back in the seat and exhales loudly.

"Well, lovey, you and I have been through worse and came out of it okay....I'm just getting too damn old to do this anymore."

He sits back and closes his eyes. Flame is silent as usual, and stares out the window.

She looks at Kaoru with a bit of concern and then looks at Brat. A bit taken aback with the red eyes shining, she speaks to her next.

"So, Brat....um....everything okay? I'm gonna shoot at text off to Psy and let her know to expect us back sometime tomorrow."

Clicking the safety back on her gun, she puts it in her jacket and pulls out her phone. Sending a quick text to Psy, she closes her phone and puts it back in her pocket.

Kat's text to Psyzapp

Done deal. Russians have package. On our way to airport now. Be home soon.

 

[Lil Brat]

*Hearing Kat's question, she nods.* Yes, I'm alright. Fortunately, so are these boys. *She puts her hand up as Flame scowls at her.* You look to be in one piece. *She turns her eyes to the back of the driver's head again, her mind moving over events.* Someone else may have some explaining to do.

She turns back around to face Brat.

"Explaining? Did something happen? What's going on?"  

[Lil Brat]

*She closes her eyes, shakes her head.* We seem to have misplaced our escorts out. *She glances at the driver again.* Her minions must have made them. Always nice to have a few expendables at hand, no? *The driver flinches, his understanding of English is fine.*  

[Kaoru Takeshi]

His eyes still closed, he speaks up at Brat's statement.

"I'm sure something to that effect happened, Brat. The important thing is, L is in the hands of the Russians now, and we got out without any major injuries. I'm in need of a serious drink and a nice leather seat on a private jet."

Kat narrows her eyes at the driver, but does nothing. She contemplates making him suffer once they got to the airport safely.

Some time later, they pull up to the private airport where they had landed only days before. The SUV pulls in and drives directly to a hangar on the far side of the airport. Once parked, the group gets out and retrieves their gear.
