"NO!!! scream " she says frantically bolting towards the house, crying almost in wails, eyes crazed behind heavy tears. Her mind is wheeling, maybe not everything was destroyed! Maybe...maybe she can save some things? Salvage others! She must try! gonk gonk crying crying crying

DAME! STOP!

*running behind dame, she tackles her to the ground before she can make it to the burnt down place. Pinning her arms behind her and wrists together, she sits on the back of dames thighs*

Are you crazy?! Do you want to get third degree burns, along with other serious injuries? There's nothing you can do!

dame is sobbing now, crying "That was my home, Icy! It had been in my family forever! All my childhood things! My toys! Book collections - I was going to give those to my children! Photo albums, my mother's things, all our childhood games and memories, all the things I collected to start my own classroom!" crying crying Her body is shuddering under Icy, face smooshed in the dirt, spit and tears and sweat creating dirty muddy wells. "My classroom library...Everything. All that was left of Momma and Lorraine...I can't even remember what they look like," her voice breaks, "And now all the pictures are gone!"

She lays there crying, heaves wracking her body. After a few moments, she says in a quiet voice, sounding all of a young girl, "My hope chest was in there. Momma and Nanny collecting things for me, for...for my...w" she sniffs loudly, not continuing... crying crying crying cry "It was the last thing she ever gave me..." dame rubs her nose on the ground, then buries her face in her shoulder the best she can, voice little, barely audible, "How could she do this? How could she destroy our home? L loved this place. Every bit as much as me." cry cry sad

*sighing heavily, she climbs off dame, releasing her arms and rolling her over, pulling her up into a sitting position by her upper arms. Groping inside her own pockets, she can't find anything to wipe dames face off with so she uses the back of her coat sleeve the best she can, clearing off the dirt clumps but smearing some as well. She saw dames pain and though she didn't want to, felt it and felt her chest grow heavy with sorrow. She may not have her family or rememeber them to begin with, but she could share to some extent dames feelings at losing something so precious. Memories are ones best means of life, knowledge of things accomplished, time spent, life lived, loved and shared. Things she had no knowledge of and would probably never have knowledge of. With this in mind, she speaks quietly to dame*

I won't even pretend to know the extent of your love for L, nor just how hurt you are at the treasures lost in this place. On one hand, I get the reason why you feel soulbound to her, b/c she's family and that's all one has in this world above all else. Family. But on the other, fanily can be the very death of a person when there's no love in return, no give among all the taking, no remorse for all that's one's done to them. I don't have the memories, the keepsakes, or even the family members to remember. The only thing I have that has been apart of my world and my family's world is Flame.

*face hardens and teeth grit, but continues*

You have the memories, the most important things, and the only reason you can't see or remember them is b/c you're upset and distraught. Sitting here crying your eyes out and disfiguring yourself trying to accomplish something that is futile won't help anything. The only thing that you can do right now is get up, get back in the car and head back until later on, when the embers have died out and daylight is up. If you want to search for something then, I'll help you, but we need to go. Now.

"My...my car...", dame says sadly, eyes wide and tearful, motioning in the direction of her car.

*picking up her gun she'd dropped in restraining dame, she holsters it and pushes herself off the ground, holding her hand out to help dame up*

We can pick it up when we come back to search through the remains. Besides, you're in no condition for any attempts at driving tonight.

(( gonk I wasn't thinking of that! Icy, I was gonna leave a OOC before I went to work saying Icy could mod me to the bar and move us back in time...Now I feel bad...I'll be home in fifteen minutes or so and respond then, okay? Oh...feel free to move me to the bar then! rofl ))

The group meets the next morning for a communal breakfast together. Brat takes that time to inform them of what she knows about Ivan, and how they should act around him. Nodding as she speaks, the group asks her various questions about Ivan, of which Brat answers to the best of her ability. Kat thinks to herself that this guy makes L look sunny and happy in comparison. Flame sits and does what he’s been trained to do, observe and take notice of their surroundings while taking in everything Brat has to say.

After they had ate, the escort comes in, followed by Ivan and two of his bodyguards. He motions for them to stay seated, as they would be having the meeting now. Kat looks over at Kaoru, wondering what he was thinking…was he regretting getting tangled up with the Russians? Or would the end justify the means?

Ivan takes a seat at the head of the table, one bodyguard standing behind him, the other taking his place at the opposite end of the table. He takes him time, looking over each one of the group as if evaluating their individual abilities. He addresses Kaoru first.

"Mr. Takeshi, I understand you want our help so that you can be free of this "L" character, correct?” Kaoru merely nods at the question. “Ah, this is good, since we want her for our own reasons." Ivan speaks to Flame next.

“Mr. Nightmaer, your reputation precedes you. It is good you agreed to do this. Otherwise, we might have had to "persuade" you to do otherwise. I understand you have two women who are very dear to you, yes? It is good to see you here, so that they may stay safe." Flame says nothing, but anger flashes across his face as Ivan refers to Icy and dame. Knowing he can’t spout off to Ivan as Brat had warned or he would be putting the women in danger, he just narrows his eyes and scowls at Ivan.

Ivan then settles his icy gaze on Kat.

"Ms. Katana, I understand you also have worked for L?" She keeps her face emotionless and nods. “I also understand that you are an excellent sniper. Do you think you would be able to wound L without killing her?"

"I can hit her wherever you want me to, plain and simple. My skills are for you to use," Kat answered him simply.

Ivan just nods, and then turns to Brat.

"And Brat, your abilities will be needed as well. We are going to need a diversion to bring her out into the open. I’m opening the meeting for discussion now. This is our planning time, I suggest we use it wisely and not let it turn into a bickering match." Having said his piece, Ivan sets back and looks over the group.

*as dame hesitantly yet slowly reaches for her hand, she grabs it and pulls dame up to her feet, guiding her to the car. Placing her in the passenger side, she quickly jumps into the driver side and puts her car in gear, making a wide turn and speeding down the way they came. dame turns around in her seat to watch the smoldering rubble that was once her home as it faded away in the distance, fresh tears rolling down her cheeks*

L had been in deep thought the past few days, pacing up and down in front of her office window, stopping occasionally to tap her lip, pondering. She has been waiting impatiently for her crew to come back with information from the cemetery. Furious as she thinks about what was in the envelope for the umpteenth time, she starts pacing again. The carpet already becoming slightly worn. Deciding to think on something that made her evil heart warm with glee, she thinks on dame and the conversation they had not that long ago. twisted The conversation about their house.

L chuckles darkly, that was just the beginning of what L had planned for that traitorous snake in the grass. Who had the GALL to bring up Lorraine's name in front of her. scream L had been FURIOUS. A sinister smile breaks across her treacherous lips, yes, L had made a few calls after that lovely conversation with her... L makes a face as if she smelled something unpleasant, with her sister. A few calls that would be effecting dame very, very soon.

L stops at the window again, baleful grin plastered on her face as she stares down at the streets below.

((LOL, I'm working on it!!!!!!!!!!! Geez, allergy meds have me all wonky and it's hard to think! xd ))

The group spends most of the day at the table, bouncing different ideas off of each other, Ivan occasionally shooting some of them down. Hours later, they, come up with a plan, of which Ivan goes over with them so that there are no questions.

The Russians have been watching L’s building for days since they discovered her whereabouts. Noting that she has a large plate glass window in her office, it’s decided that Kat will set up on top of the building across the street, giving her a clear shot at L.

Kaoru and Flame will enter the building to go to L’s office, being as Kaoru is still above suspicion and can move freely throughout the building. If he has to explain Flame’s presence, he can simply say they are expected to meet with L immediately.

Brat, with her abilities, is to provide any support needed, in case anyone tries to stop Kaoru and Flame from going to L’s office. She is also to stay in the shadows to make sure Kaoru and Flame are out of the way of Kat’s shot.

Ivan nods at one of his bodyguards, who in turn brings him some small electronic equipment.

“Here are earwigs and microphones for the three of you to wear. Brat, you will not have these, since they would not be able to slip through the shadows with you, no? The microphones are small enough for you to wear on the inside of your clothes without being noticed, and the earwigs are hardly noticeable when worn. This will be the way we coordinate our movements, yes?” The bodyguard hands an earwig and microphone to Kat, Kaoru and Flame, each one looking over the tiny pieces of equipment.

Ivan continues, “Once Ms. Katana has taken her non-lethal shot, it will be up to you other three to keep L’s people from entering her office until we get there. My men will be providing support and will be undercover on the streets. Once Ms. Katana has taken her shot, they will enter the building and head straight for L’s office. You will then head to the roof, where a helicopter will arrive to take L. Once the helicopter is gone, make your way back down with my men to the waiting vehicles that will take you to the airport.”

He turns and looks at Kat, “And you will stay on the roof until the helicopter has gotten L and has flown away, understood? In case L still has some loyal lapdogs that will do something stupid to try and save her.”

Kat merely nods, taking in all the information. Ivan informs the group that they will execute the plan later that evening and to be ready to go at a moment’s notice. He gets up and his bodyguards follow him out of the penthouse.

Kat gets up after Ivan leaves and heads back to the bedroom. She gets out her rifle and cleans it, mentally going over the plan in her mind as she painstakingly cleans her rifle. Taking it apart, she takes her time, touching it lovingly, taking her time and being very detailed with the routine. Once she has the rifle put back together, she double checks the scope and cleans the lenses on it as well.

Once the rifle is cleaned and loaded, she changes into her black clothes. Since it would be dark when they pull off this plan, she puts one of her black wigs on as well. adding a hood to later cover her face, she packs extra ammo into her jacket pocket. Getting out her phone, she sends a text to Psyzapp.
