Gikishou laughed. "Mine were agonizingly slow and boring, but we had a bunch of tests today." he told him, sitting at a table with their friends.

Kyo's eyes brightened a little. "So how did you do on those tests?" he asked. "Did you have trouble in any way?"

"Actually, no. It was still pretty easy." He answered honestly, smiling and taking a bite of his lunch, not minding the mediocre taste since everyone was used to it by now.

"That's nice to hear," Kyo said with a smile. "It's great that school seems to be much easier for you."

Gikishou smiled and nodded. "It's fun being smart."

"It's also convenient when you need to be smart," Kyo said. "It helps make your life a whole lot easier, doesn't it?"

Gikishou nodded. "Much easier. Homework is still boring now, but at least I understand it."

"The important thing is that you can understand it," Kyo said. "Looks like all that time in tutoring period actually paid off."

Gikishou laughed. "Yeah, with you as my tutor. I still remember how you looked terrified when you saw me."

Kyo blushed a little in embarrassment. He had forgotten about that time and now that it was mentioned he wanted to forget. "W-well, you had a bad reputation at the time," he said, trying to sound annoyed. "Anyone would be scared."

Gikishou stuck his tongue out. "And look at us now."

"Nobody knew what was going to happen a few weeks from then," Kyo said. "I bet things would have been different if either of us knew."

Gikishou nodded. "I suppose, but things turned out like this, and, frankly, I'm glad they did."

Kyo had to agree. He was indeed glad that things turned out this way. Sure, there were some events that he wished had never happened, but everything went okay over all.

Gikishou smiled and nodded, finishing lunch and walking him to class. He kissed his cheek and let him go inside, smiling as he went to his own class.
