A sick smirk twisted on the scientists lips as he heard the familiar voice through the phone. "Ah, well...If it isn't Mr. Shinra himself. Is the big bad president worried about one worthless fighter? How pitiful!" He spoke with a hint of glee in his voice.

"I'm here..." The flower maiden stepped from the shadow's, "I figured you'd be asleep longer..." She muttered, placing a hand on Cloud's forhead. "Cloud, I've already made my decision...I'm going to let him kill me...heh...Never thought I'd have to say that again..." She said, smiling sadly down at her friend. The sting of tears forming in her eyes becoming unbearble, and she reached up to wipe them away.

Loz crossed his arms over his chest, pouting in a child-like way, "There he goes causing us trouble again." He sighed, shaking his head, before nodding at what Kadaj had said, "We're not stupid, Kadaj...of course we'll stay on guard." he whispered back.

For a moment Cloud hung there in the silence, letting the weight of Aeris's words sink in. Then it hit him what she'd said and he jerked against the chains to reach her. "You can't!" he cried in a loud whisper. "You can't die again because of me!"

She frowned, staring down at Cloud a few more moments before turning away. "It's my decision Cloud...There's no other way around it." She bit her lip, holding back the tears that wanted to fall, "I'm not even really alive right now...It's all fake." She mmbled as she began to stare at her arm. The skin was graying again, turning back to that sickly dead color.

Rather than being repulsed by the sight of the woman's rotting skin, Cloud was overwhelmed by sadness. He knew Aeris's life wasn't real it still hurt him to think that he was going to lose her again.
"But..." Knowing he couldn't argue his friend's logic, he let his head drop and looked away from her. "I'm sorry."

"Indeed. So you do have Cloud, professor."
Rufus was impassive as he spoke, fingers drumming idly on his chair. His eyes darted up towards his inferiors through a few stray strands of blonde- they could hear Maddock as well. The president sighed, evidently disgruntled, and continued.
“I understand your grief....I suppose, “ he commented, now pulling the phone away from his face. Rufus spoke slightly louder, and in more hostile tone. “You have no use of the ex-SOLDIER, he knows nothing of Hojo. Hojo is dead. None of your experiments can bring him back, I assure you.”
And now, calmly, he spoke. “Where are you now, Maddock?”
At the mention of ‘experiment,’ Kadaj quirked up from his place before the president, lurching forward instinctively, though he stayed rooted to the ground.
“Ex-expirements?” He choked out. Anger swelled, and fueled the youth’s movements as he circled the wheelchair, eyes narrowed to emerald slits at the phone.
“Why did you take us away?!” Kadaj unexpectedly screamed, hands flung dramatically on the Rufus’ shoulders, who suddenly became startled at his outburst, “Why did you take us away from mother?!” His teeth were bared- Kadaj was now snarling at Maddock.

Vincent's hand twitched aggitatedly at both the scientist's words and Kadaj's outburst. He stood poised, ready to grab the youngest brother if he got violent.
Yazoo growled upon hearing the man's voice as well. He walked over quickly, his pupils slits and hit teeth also bared. "We know where his hide out is brother, he hissed in Kadaj's ear.

"And you don't think I can bring back the dead? You're a foolish man Mr. ShinRa" Laughter filled the earpiece, and the sound of a large metal door opening could be heard.
Maddock approached Aeris in the room and grabbed her arm, either not caring, or not noticing the rotting flesh wich he grabbed, He clicked over to speaker phone and placed it down on top of his chair. "Now, Ancient...How about you say something to Mr. President..."
Aeris was wide-eyes and yelped when maddock grabbed her, when she saw the phone, she began screaming frantically, "Please! Help! Cloud... he's here! We're in a ca-" Her words were cut off, and replaced by a shriek, as Maddock pressed a knife to her throat.
"Now, I'm going to slit her throat, and leave her body to bleed ontop of the b*****d's, unless someone tells me how, EXACTLY HOW, Hojo died. Now!" Maddock yelled as he looked at Cloud.
Loz grabbed Kadaj's shoulder, feeling it was his turn to calm the other down now, "Shh...Brother, It's alright...We'll be back with mother again...Just calm down...He obviously knows this man." he muttered, nodding his head in Rufus's direction, "Just let them handle it for a few minutes..." He was surprised himself, that he wasn't crying at the mention of his mother

Kadaj's arms went completely limp at his sides; the only sound from the man for many moments was the rapid succession of his breathing, attempting to calm himself down. He nodded slowly to Loz, swallowing dryly and giving his other brother, Yazoo a reassuring gaze. They indeed, did know where this man was. Damn- but he hated waiting! He had no care for this woman on the other line, screaming for help. But, without this President and his lowers, it could be impossible for them to get back to mother. So, Kadaj sighed, crossing his arms over one another stubbornly.
Rufus almost dropped the phone at the sound of Aeris' voice. His thin line of a mouth opened partially, then shut just as quickly, unable to find a response. There was none- only practical persuasion. The president’s eyes flicked to both Rude and Reno, moving the phone back to his face.
Calmly, he said, “Now, Maddock. What would you accomplish by slaughtering the girl? You spent such a long time, I presume, bring her back to life!”
Rufus’ words were said with the utmost placidity, almost casual in his inflection. After a pause, and the Professor said nothing, he continued. “However- I do understand why Cloud himself does not know the whereabouts of your precious Hojo’s death. For...I know of who killed him. Strife was not a witness.”
It was obvious to everyone around him that he was lying through his teeth, but the way he carried out his sentences left the oblivious to consider them as truth.

Cloud looked right back at him defiantly. Aeris may not be able to talk, but he could. "Rufus!" he yelled straining to get to Aeris. "You have to find us! He'll kill her, please! The brothers, they know where we are! Ask them!" During his time alone with Aeris, the blonde had worked out what had happedned and was sure Kadaj and the others were there now.

Reno instinctively tightened his grip on the electro-rod. The upcoming fight was going to be hell....especially if one of Hojo's scientist 'pals' was involved. The red-head looked over at Rude. "What are we gonna do...." His question was little more than a whisper.Rude shrugged in response to his lover. "I'm not entirely sure....but if that man plans to carry out....damn." He took off his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes. Rude was prepared to do whatever it takes to protect his shacho...but he wasnt willing to let is lover get hurt. ~What to do...what to do....~

Maddock growled at the phone seated on his chair. He was being mocked by Rufus now, and being mocked wasn't something the man expecially tolerated. "I only brought her back for the purpose of getting Cloud here. She has no value to me any more!" He yelled at the metal object, before throwing Aeris to the ground. "God woman, fix yourself up." He said in disgust as he finally noticed the rotting flesh.
He reached into the pocket of his lab coat, and pulled out a vile of the same liquid aeris had injected herself with earlier and threw it to her. "Now, Mr. ShinRa....You're leading me to believe that our good friend Cloud here knows nothing about Hojo's death, eh?" He said, voice calm once again as he circled the chair the phone sat on, "So then you're telling me that he's of no value to me...and I could kill him now if I pleased?" He toyed with the knife in his hand, smiling as he spoke to the president.
A cold, heartless laugh escaped the crazed scientist, as he began to gently run the tip of the blade against Cloud's neck, making sure not to press to hard. If he stabbed him in the neck, the ex-soldier would die, and then the fun would be truly over, "Now...How about YOU tell me how Hojo died...Then, i'll let Cloud return to you, and we can all return to our normal happy lives." His voice had a false sweetness to it, Like a child gave to a parent when they wanted something.

Loz returned his brother's nod, and held onto Kadaj's shoulders, masaging them lightly to try and calm him even further. He looked to Yazoo and sighed slightly. The situation wasn't looking extremely promising...

A small smile upturned the previous scowl on Rufus' youthful face. Everything was seemingly, falling into it's place. He nodded to his cohorts, as if to reassure them, through their silent apprehension.
"I do not know personally how Hojo died. However.... I have some accomplices with me presently, that hold that valuable information. As for Cloud..." One of Rufus' bony fingers was tracing circles on the edge of his wheelchair, "...Keep him alive. He may not be of value to you, but I find him as such, for the sake of my own skin- ShinRa, does."
He lifted that same finger, beckoning in just a few movements for both Rude and Reno to start the car once again. "After all; if you do not satisfy my own needs- you shall not know what you wish, of your former professor."
Somewhat hesitant, Rufus clicked the phone shut, throwing it back to Vincent.
"You know where this man is, then, Kadaj?"
Kadaj blinked out of his thoughtful stupor at the sound of his name, looking down at the blonde man before him. "Yes, I do.." he responded warily, gaze flitting between his two brethren.
"You wish of me to lead you to them?"
Rufus nodded.
"Well...if it takes us to brother..." The silver-haired man cross his arms over one another, addressing both Yazoo and Loz as he said loudly, "What do we think? "

Cloud stood his ground and glared unwaveringly at the crazed doctor. "Don't tell him anything Rufus" he growled not moving his gaze from Maddock. "Hojo deserved to die."

"s**t!" The man cursed sloudly, and kicked the chair as the phone went dead. "The b*****d hung up on me!" He didn't care that the ear piece, and the bottom of the phone broke away from eachother. Now, Maddock was focused on what Cloud had said. "Don't you ever...EVER Say anything like that again! Do you hear me!?" His eyes flashed even more dangerously then they had before. He moved the knife, stabbing it into Clouds shoulder and leaving it there. "I'll be back later...it's best if you start feeling more talkativeby the time I get back...Insolent b*****d." And with that, he left the room yet again.
Aeris pushed herself up from the floor, after injecting herself with the fluid. Her skin had returned to normal, and she came to stand beside Cloud again. She looked at the knife, and bit her lip, "Should I...take it out...? I don't know if I'll be able to fully heal it...I'm feeling a little bit weak..."

Cloud winced and shook his head. It was the same shoulder where Sephiroth had stabbed him three years ago. "It doesn't hurt so bad. And if you take it out now the bleeding will be pretty bad." He paused then added "It's not in anything vital, I just don't think I can handle the blood loss right now." He smiled weakly at Aeris and tried to relax the best he could.
