Tristan smirked. He found it humorous when Veronica got all defensive the way she did. Her face usually puffed up, kind of like a Qwilfish but with less visible spikes. She was determined to beat him, it seemed. Fine, if she wanted to play that way, he would play her game. Of course, the game was nothing but chance, but he would make sure he was luckier than her to ensure his victory. Standing back, he crossed his arms and let her play her next three tickets. The first two were duds, as he expected, but the last one ended up winning her a Salamance plush. Blinking his eyes, he wouldn't have believed it if the person running the booth hadn't reached up to get the plush for her and hand it to her. Hmph. So she got lucky once. Big deal. He knew which one she really wanted. The thing he had in common with Veronica was his fondness of Grass type Pokemon, so he knew she wanted the Venusaur. He would be the one walking back to the hotel with that one, though.
