"It's not a problem. I can understand." He said softly as they began walking down the street. "Where is it you've been staying anyways, if not with your relatives?"

"Oh there's an apartment above the shop. Grandmother set me up there. Said I should have my own space." She smiled a little.

She laughed softly. "I'm sure most people think that as well. Its not very big but then again I'm only really sleeping up there. I don't need much room. Where do you live anyway?" She asked him.

"Just down from your grandparents actually, by the lake." He said with a nod. "It's a lot bigger than I need it to be, but I got it after my parents passed away and my sister didn't want it and I wasn't going anywhere. So it fell upon me. To be perfectly honest I don't know what to do with the extra space."

"Well thats a shame. Big house all to yourself." Bernadette felt a bit bad for him in this. "You know you don't have to walk me back." but if she was being honest with herself she didn't really mind at all. She liked walking with him, it was calming.

He thought about her first comment for a second but didn't say anything about it. "Of course I don't have to, but do you really think I have something better to do? Besides, I kinda like spending time with you. Even if I risk getting bit again." He teased.

She smiled and shoved him lightly. "Alright don't tease." she blushed a little and was glad the the moon light wasn't strong enough to see her face well. "I like spending time with you as well."

He noticed the slight pink on her cheeks and smiled a bit seeing that before he gave her a light shove back. "Glad to hear it." He looked down thinking for a few moments before speaking. "I may be a bit straight forward saying this... but you know, if you want to you could move into my place. It's not like I don't have the room for it and I certainly wouldn't mind the company." He blushed deeply having said that and didn't expect her to accept the offer, but he said nothing more.

"That is a bit forward Mister Black." Bernadette smiled though, she was flattered at the offer. "I'm not sure I could pay you though and my grandparents would probably disapprove." She managed to see the pink in his cheeks and was a bit surprised he asked her at all.

"Pay?" He blinked, the thought having not crossed his mind. "Hell if you can cook better than me that's more than enough. I'm sick of eating burnt stew... don't ask me how I pulled that one off." He said, chuckling softly when she spoke to him formally. "I can't say I know your grandfather very well, but I would think your grandmother would love the idea. Then again you know her much better than I do." He nodded. "In the end it is up to you."

She out right laughed at his stew comment. And it took her a moment to compose herself. "I'm sorry." she covered her mouth a moment. "Well of course there needs to be some payment. I couldn't just stay with you for nothing. It would be unfair to impose upon you without something in return." She mulled the idea over. She was sure there would be objection to the idea but if it was proposed in the right matter, say as a live in house keeper and cook for him that they would agree. But she wasn't sure.

"Well if you can think of something I'd be happy to hear it. I don't really need the money, I got that covered pretty well. I'm not rich or anything but I make a fair living hunting from time to time... when I don't get caught in my own traps anyways." He chuckled, a bit embarrassed about earlier. "As I said though it is totally up to you. I'm bit surprised you even seem to be considering it."

"One must consider her options in life. Of course if I did there would be even more talk around the village." At her own comment that reality sunk in hard. She didn't like the thoughts that flooded her mind then.
