P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter promptly brought over the tea with the whole table, for there wasn't a small table next to the chaise, and set it down somewhere easily accessible for Eduard. He then smiled slightly and, getting more comfortable with Eduard already, murmured, "If it p-pleases you, m-my lord, then I-I'll eat..." He sat down at the table and started eating small spoons of his soup, though not feeling at all hungry. The day had also been quite tiring for Peter.
He glanced up at Eduard and couldn't help but utter one last, guilty-ridden "I'm sorry..." He glanced down at his soup, studying it meticulously as to have an excuse to not look at Eduard's expression. It probably would be a forgiving one, accompanied by the classic it's-not-your-fault reply.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

Eduard picked up his tea, sipping it for a long moment. "If you're truly sorry, Peter... then let it go. I'm not about to hold a grudge because you were frightened... heaven knows if our positions had been switched, I'd have been just as frightened." he sighed, setting the tea down again and leaning back, closing his eyes for a few precious seconds of silence. "I let your trust down, and for that, I'm sorry." Eduard whispered after a time. "I didn't think things through... acted on impulse... and you were hurt by my actions. I do hope to never make that mistake again."

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter sat in silence for a while, trying to think of how to make Eduard feel better. Finally, he placed down his bowl of almost finished soup and walked over to Eduard, kneeling down beside him. He was still not looking directly at Eduard, and he was blushing quite a bit. This was the only way he knew how to show his forgiveness, or lack thereof for there was nothing to forgive. "Close your eyes," he whispered, half willing himself to stop this insanity, half willing himself to pull it off.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

For a long moment, Eduard's dark gaze focused on Peter, watching the young actor. 'What is he thinking?' the Marquess found himself wondering. He reached a hand out, thinking to force Peter to look at him... but then Eduard hesitated and stopped his hand, laying it back down on the chaise beside him. 'It is a simple request...' the thought went through his mind before, not a second later, Eduard's deep purple eyes closed. Just as Peter had asked.

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter gained up all of his courage and leaned in. He kissed Eduard very softly. It was probably one of the most sweet kisses that he had ever given—which wasn't very many to begin with. Peter's hand found its way to Eduard's hair, and he just held it for a while before breaking off the kiss abruptly. He still kept his hand in Eduard's hair though, and didn't move much from his position.
He was blushing one of the deepest shades of red that he had ever blushed in Eduard's presence—which was saying a lot—and murmured, "R-Rosaline seems to f-forgive you, though I-I don't think th-that there was a-anything to forgive you f-for..." He was struggling to smile, his embarrassment making him look very much like a young woman.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

Eyes closed, Eduard didn't move, didn't even react as Peter kissed him gently. He felt that lithe hand tangle into his hair, the warmth of the young actor as he leaned over him, and the subtle softness of his lips. When Peter began to speak, Eduard's dark purple gaze returned and he watched the actor who hovered before him. Reaching out, the Marquess placed his right hand on Peter's cheek, smiling gently. "Has she now?" he asked, his voice whisper soft. Without warning, Eduard carefully pulled Peter down to rest on his chest. Now, they looked directly into one another's eyes, and the Marquess' smile was terribly charming. "And has Peter forgiven me as well?" Eduard whispered, before claiming the actor's lips with his own, the action soft and gentle...

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter blushed and tensed, but he didn't pull away from the kiss. He actually was quite surprised that Eduard wasn't taken aback by the first kiss and that he actually initiated—and wanted—more kisses. He closed his eyes, the image of Eduard's perfect smile floating around in his head. There were so many women that would probably kill to take his place.
Peter finally pulled away, light headed. Eduard sure knew how to work up someone, even someone of the same gender. He didn't—couldn't—look at Eduard. "H-he still th-thinks that y-you never n-needed any f-forgiveness..." He spoke softly, his voice airy and very embarrassed.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

When Peter pulled away, Eduard kept his hand against the actor's cheek for a moment, before lowering it to place on Peter's shoulder. The Marquess smiled once more, "Then I am glad." he whispered. Strangely enough however, Eduard himself had a hint of a blush on his fair cheeks. "There's no need to be embarrassed." Eduard eventually spoke, noticing the stammer in Peter's voice. "Besides... I rather like listening to you speak." his smile was as charming as ever. "It... soothes my nerves, to be honest." In other words, the Marquess wished Peter felt more at ease around him. After all, Peter had a lovely voice, broken only by his stuttering uncertainty. When he was acting, his voice was clear as a bell... and Eduard truly hoped that one day, that voice would be Peter's trust voice... and the he could hear it for himself.

P e t e r - W i n t e r sA sudden thought came to Peter. "M-marquess... When is th—" He breathed in deeply and smiled very sweetly. "When do you plan for the official announcement of our engagement?" He leaned in and laid his head on Eduard's chest, starting to embody Rosaline now. "I'm sure that news of this will reach your father soon, and you must act before Rutherford plots to damage your status any further." This was what made Peter an amazing actor. In less than a minute, he was completely changed.
Peter figured that since Rosaline and Eduard were supposed to be madly in love, Eduard would naturally feel more comfortable with Rosaline instead of 'Peter.' And since this whole day had been very rough, he tried a change of pace and focus.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

"Well..." Eduard began, gently laying one hand on the back of Peter's neck, keeping himself comfortable as the young actor laid against him. "Rutherford already know that my father wants me to marry... and he pretty much knows I wish to become engaged to the dear Lady Rosaline." he smiled softly. "So... when I am feeling better, hopefully tomorrow... I can make the announcement public. We can throw a bit of a party... invite London's nobility." his fingers gently ran through Peter's hair, an absent minded action. "Except Rutherford... he can wallow in my anger for a while before setting foot inside this manor again. I'll invite those of lower station than him... make him sweat a bit and have to come up with an excuse to his peers as to why he missed the most talked about event of the season." Oh yes... the parties that Eduard threw were grand indeed.

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter swallowed loudly. "My God... That soon?" Peter bit his lip, not sure if he can pull off a convincing Rosaline. And this time, all eyes would be on the two of them, meaning that his performance needed to be flawless. Hoping for some reason as to why he was actually here, Peter suddenly asked, "Edu—Marquess, why am I Rosaline?" It was a force of habit. It was still hard for Peter to call Eduard by his name again, after having gone through the whole day calling him 'Marquess.'
As for the question, though it was phrased for self interpretation, was hopefully straightforward enough. Peter remembered when Eduard had first asked him to play the part. Surely Eduard hadn't even seen him act yet, and he was already prepared to give him a small fortune for his art? There had to have been something else.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

For a long time, Eduard said nothing. "Because you are Rosaline." he replied, as if it made all the sense in the world. Smiling gently, the Marquess continued, "Do you think I had never seen you act before?" With a soft laugh, Eduard moved to where Peter had to look at him, or be uncomfortable where his head lay. "I know everything in my theatre, Peter. Everyone. I have watched for a long time now... and even when you thought you were alone, when you spouted off a monologue or two... I was watching. Nothing happened under that roof that I didn't know about." his smile remained soft. "You showed me the most talent, the most beauty ... and..." he shook his head slightly, "And I felt that I could trust you with anything. Including this secret lie that I have begun to spin."

P e t e r - W i n t e r sImmediately, Peter lost all of his Rosaline-esque self and stuttered, "W-what...? E-even those o-ones?" Sure enough, there had been times when he just felt like spouting out a couple lines for the sake of it, but he hadn't thought that there had been anyone watching. How utterly weird he must have looked.
He wanted to look away from Eduard's gentle gaze, but really couldn't from his position. And even more surprising was Eduard's little tidbit about trust. Even though they had never met before two days ago, Eduard had trusted Peter from the very beginning? That was very unexpected for the young actor.L a d y - R o s a l i n e

"Peter, your acting skills are better than any of those in my entire theatre." the Marquess confided in the young man. "I chose you because you were perfect for me, Peter. And... well... because you're rather stunning." Eduard knew what he was saying... kind of. Peter made a beautifully stunning woman. But, when not in the dress of a lady... Peter himself was still quite lovely. Smiling, Eduard's gaze locked with Peter's own. "Is it so terrible? I know I must have been spying on you, Peter but... you're just so talented. I couldn't bear to watch that talent wasted on those idiotic managers and their nearsighted stupidity. You deserve more."

P e t e r - W i n t e r sPeter sort of missed the rest of Eduard's statement after the word 'stunning.' Stunning... stunning... STUNNING?! Finally, it clicked together, and Peter started laughing his bell chime laugh. He found it very amusing that Eduard would call him stunning. Finally calming himself down, he smiled and murmured, "How ironic..." He blushed. "Th-thank you..."
Peter shivered a little. The night was growing cold, and he was sure that Eduard must have been cold too. There was only one problem: there was only one blanket. He didn't want to disturb Elizabeth or Sebastian, so he was really left with no choice but retrieving the blanket from the bed and laying it gently on Eduard, making sure that he was warm and comfortable.L a d y - R o s a l i n e
