A Lazy Samurai Vigilia xxxmamoru Can we use Heart Scales on Alola Form Pokemon and use their Move Tutor list from ORAS? Alola form pokemon did not exist in ORAS, therefore, they cannot learn the tutor moves from oras since that moveset does not belong to the alola form pokemon. Is there an item that lets Pokemon learn Transfer Only moves?
Yes, that would be the Dream Gem item:
Dream Gem: This strange gem delves into the ancient past to a time called the Link-Cable to teach modem pokemon forgotten moves. Teach any 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th generation pokemon one move it could originally learn but has sense been removed from its move pool. Example would be Pikachu from generation one learning the then TM Payday. To Obtain: 40 posts in the Dreamyard. Not effected by the ability Pick-Up.
However, this is mostly for moves learned in past generation level up movesets. When it comes to old egg or tutor moves, you can still use Big Mushrooms and Heartscales respectively. For instance, we're aware that Pikachu no longer has a current generation move tutor list, but you can use the list from ORAS for move tutor moves.
What Vigilia was trying to say above is that Alolan Raichu specifically doesn't have a move tutor list because it didn't exist before Alola, but Pikachu did.

So say I wanted to teach my Alolan Marowak Iron Tail, which is an ORAS move tutor move. I would have to teach it the move as a Cubone with a heart scale and not a dream gem right ?
