"Ok fine James you want to really know why you shouldn't be coming. Even though I don't want to put it this way but it's girl talk. Things you shouldn't be hearing."

James grinned. "I know, Remus. Why do you think I wanted to follow you? Look, I'm only teasing. I'll go back to the dorm, and I swear I will." He tapped the parchment in Remus's hands with his wand. "Mischief managed. Trust me. I'll go to the common room."

"Ok. But remember I can make sure you did." He put the map back in his pocket.

Lily showed up then. "I thought you were going to bed early James."

"Just heading up right now. I had to talk to Remus. Good night, all." He waved over his shoulder as he headed back to the common room, his cloak hidden under his robes.

"Night James."

"Good night James." Lily started walking with Remus. "Remus I wanted to talk with you about something. I don't see how you can forgive Sirius after what he did."

"Lily it was a kiss meant as a joke. He's not going to do it again. I'm sorry it happened."

"No not that. The thing with Severus at the willow."

Remus stopped in his tracks. "Where did you here about that?"

Lily looked a little hesitant. "James told me about it. He said that... you forgave him after only a few months."

"He had no right. That's between me, Sirius, and Severus." Remus sighed. "But I guess I'll tell you since you know. I love Sirius, more than anything. And it's hard to stay mad at someone you love that much. Especially since he said there was no chance of me hurting him because I wouldn't hurt anyone."

"Well, it's true that you wouldn't, but... I still don't understand how you can forgive so easily. If James pulled a prank on one of my friends that almost got another of my friends injured in some way, it would take a long time."

"You just started getting to know James. I don't think you love him as much as I love Sirius. I know Sirius loves me just as much as I love him and it's not going to happen again."

Lily nodded. "I suppose you're right," she agreed and dropped the subject. "Is that an honest to goodness invisibility cloak he has?"

Remus chuckled and nodded. "Yeah. And it's a lot better than invisibility cloaks I've read about. It even hides your shadow."

"Wow. That sounds like the invisibility cloak from Beetle the Bard's story. I... uh... found a book in the library that had a collection of Beetle the Bard's stories," she added, blushing lightly.

"Yeah I know the story. But whose to say it isn't?"

Lily looked surprised. "You think it could be the same one? I thought those were merely children's stories. The cloak couldn't really exist... Could it?"

"Could be. According to James his family has owned it for a long time. I never thought to ask him if he knows if it's true. Maybe we should sometime. He might know."
