Kyo smiled a little, taking a seat and son eating his breakfast. He wondered how this week would go, especially now that everything seems to have changed.

Their parents came downstairs, Gikishou smiling as his hair was ruffled and he served their shares. "Thank you, GIkishou!" They both said, smiling as they dug in.

Kyo once again felt strangely out of place in this family, even though he was assured that he was a part of it. He was just so used to hearing arguements or bearing with utter silence. There was never such a cheerful family atmosphere in his past.

Gikishou smiled as they all ate, soon finishing. "Well, time for us to go to school. See you when we get home!" His parents hugged them and his mom kissed their cheeks, then let them go. "Be good!"

It only took the word 'school' to get Kyo out of his thoughts. Of course. Today was a school day. How could he forget? Perhaps it was because of this atmosphere, not that it was bad.

Gikishou lifted him into the truck, kissing his cheek lightly. "By the way, when's your birthday?" He asked innocently.

Kyo was surprised. He never expected that kind of question. "It's... it's on November 13," he answered, a little confused. "Why do you ask?"

"No reason." He told him innocently. He mentally put that on a calendar so that he could get him a present.

Kyo stared at Giki-san somewhat suspiciously, but just shrugged it off and shifted his gaze to the window. It didn't seem like such a big deal, so he might as well not treat it like it was.

Gikishou just smiled. "Halloween is coming up..." He noted, pulling into the school parking lot. "You have any costume ideas?"

"I don't really celebrate Halloween," Kyo said, still staring out the window. "I had no friends to Trick-or-Treat with and my parents wouldn't let me go outside on those days anyway."

Gikishou winced. "Well... we can celebrate it inside... maybe have a halloween movie marathon that isn't scary, and pumpkin pie." He offered.

"That sounds nice," Kyo said, smiling a little. "Maybe we can invite your friends, too. I don't think they'd want to be left out or anything."

Gikishou grinned. "Sure thing." He said, escorting him to his first period. "I'll see you at lunch~" He told him, heading for his own class.

Kyo stayed where he was for a moment, and then he walked to his seat before the bell rang. A small sigh escaped his lips as he stared out the window. It was the first time in his life that he would look so forward to lunch period.
