How about some of these provocative Halloween costumes? I've seen middle school girls wearing them! eek
Wow! I just got 8 gallons of gas for $20! At $2.49 a gallon, I actually feel like I pumped some gas into my vehicle this time! xd

Vengence of Areashine KatrinaZ mAOri waHIne It's so nice that gas has dropped to below $4 a gallon now I'm waiting for milk prices to drop from $7 a gallon in my state. OMG! eek $7.00 ?!? Milk around here costs like $3.77/gal. and I thought that was expensive!!! It's pretty bad when soy milk is less expensive than real milk. Gas around here has finally dropped to about $2.89. I'm happy. I got gas today at $2.28, It was less than $30 to fill the tank!!!

I don't like the thought of really young girls wearing these sorts of costumes, but if their parents say they can, there's not much stopping them.

The skirts get shorter and the tops smaller and more low-cut... hmmm... remember the old saying, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk free?" Some of these young ladies are walking advertisements, and then whine when someone calls their virtue into question ~ Go Figure rolleyes
And 5 - 12 years olds in the same get-up... WTF ~ no it's not "oh, she looks so cute..." talk2hand
A former friend of mine let her little one do that at 5... with comments about how adorable her little one was and how she was gonna be all-that when she grew up... note the "former" in the first part of that. I won't be surprised when she turns up pregnant in a few.

So the problem lies with the parents. We need to be raising smart, confident, strong ladies. And when they are old enough, they should know there's a difference between sexy and slutty. And a time and place for everything. "Lady on the street, but a freak in the bed."

You guys are right, I don't understand how the parents dont see the danger of the oufits. These children become more noticeable to the sexual predators. its so sad...

I think the whole trick or treating scene is over-rated anyway. Maybe back in the day when "it took a village to raise a child," but now you're buying a mountain of candy to give to kids that are so young that they don't even know what's going on, or ones that are old enough, but you don't even recognize and probably aren't even from your neighborhood that are so intent on getting the most candy they can for free that they don't even take the time to make eye contact with you, never-the-less say thank you.
No, I think I'd much rather just throw a Halloween party these days.

I still think Trick or Treating is a great idea, I'm sure everyone that has ever gone tried to get as much candy as possible, that's the nature of being young. But, parties are always a great idea, especially in colder areas.

I think its a parent responsiblity to them that a outfit as inappropriate and I think in the teen years having a party at the house ; you can Control the situation better or at a family house you can trust. Or maybe if many families were involved you could like progressive dinner, where you go to other houses (of neigbors or friends houses you know) its control that have something different at each of the houses (it would work with neighborhoods or friends..

I'm from Aus, so Halloween isn't a big thing here, it's VERY rare that random homes would receive 'trick or treaters'. Anyway, I live in a rather big block of units/houses, with it's own mini streets and such, last year we all decided to hold our own trick of treat just for our area. it was great, the kids were safe in the one area going around in a mini neighborhood they knew. And i was happy to know that i was giving away candy to familiar faces (some not familiar at all! xd )
