When you come up with the perfect story, even the toughest critic can't find anything wrong with it. Some critics tend to be cynical/arrogant/blunt and seem mean, but don't take them as the enemy, because the best way for you to realize your weaknesses is to have others point them out. It can be very discouraging, but what it really boils down to is an outline of what you perhaps need to improve upon.

Maybe you can't be perfect, but practise will bring you very close to that ideal perfection. Keep up the good work! heart

There's no such thing as a perfect story.
People can find something wrong with everything.
(Not that I didn't like your story, it was awesome)

But in other words:
You can't please everyone, don't try.
The ideal thing is to set your goals
where you want them to be...?

Maybe it didn't turn out the way I wanted? All I wanted to say was that you've written something incredible, and no one can be perfect. wink If someone criticizes you, cut out their spazzing and simply look at what they think you need improvement on (because the spazzing just makes you hate them for pouring cold water on your efforts xd ). The result is that you see the real message the critic is saying, and turning that into a source of motivation for improving your writing instead of absorbing negative comments and watching your self esteem go down the drain. If the critic is just talk and no substance, then... feel free to use the person as your punchingbag.

I love your stories and I always can't wait to see what you're going to post... I just wanted to boost your self-esteem somehow, because it made me sad to think that you're not appreciating your own efforts as much as you should be.

...so appreciate your own work. NOW! xd

Oh, don't worry about it. We all have mood swings every once in a while. wink

It was kind of ironic how I was trying to improve your self esteem while I just got shot down. *reviewed a few hours everday and did some intensive reviewing before the exam, only to find it full of tricky questions that ask for graphs not even in the book* There are so many assignments due too.

Makes me want to pull my hair but I won't because it may make me bald. xd
