Oooh, I practically live in the bookstore! It's the cure for boredom!(and I live right by it...) whee I mean, I'm too poor to buy all the books/manga/porn(that's not in there! ninja ) I want. And there are chairs all over the place, not to mention a coffe shop, so it's not like they care.

Just the other night, I saw one my friends there, and he came up and was all like "Hi!" and of course he had to see what I was reading! So he was looking through my stack of books, (andhe kept saying the art was bad! mad Was not! Well...mabye in a few.) and he comes across Petshop of Horrors vol.2,(the cover picture is Count.D and that mermaid) and he was like,"Is that a girl? xd I bet you're reading yuri!" and I was all," No! That's a guy in a dress!"

"Like that's any better."

Really, I could go on forever about all the stuff that's happened in there! And no offense to people who like yuri; it's just not my cup of tea.

xxD best excuse ever! "It's a guy in a dress!"

It's a guy in a dress? XD Rotfl.
mad There was this girl who said 'Ouran' was good but why did they have to be GAY? I mean, I was kinda GROSS. And I was just like; 'Pffth.'

Just the other day, I saw this yaoi manga; Only the ring finger Knows on the shelf, but it waaaay up the top. So I attempted to jump to get it casue I aint very tall and this guy browsing manga [he wasn't bad lookin either] Comes up and grabs it for me. And as he's handing it to me he takes a look at the cover and goes; 'Hey, is it just me or is that two dudes?'

And I was like, it's two dudes. And scampered off. sweatdrop stare crying redface

My mom doesn't care about my manga collection since I've been obsessed with from the tender age of 4. She knows it sorta comes with living in Asia practically your whole life.

About yaoi though, I have to buy Yellow! I have to! >_< But I'm too freaked out to get it and go to the counter, even though the cash lady seems to think I'm 21! Hehehe, I don't look like a teenager here! xd

My mom doesn't sneak into my collection, so it's all good. :3

Lucky my mom to a look at my RikuSora mouse pad and flipped. Although that was three months ago and I still use it.

I remember one time I was siting in my second home also known as borders ad my dad walked up to me while I was reading La Esperansaca, I got lucky and was siting with the cover between my legs so he didn't see the cover, but since it was at the part where the two main characters kissed I had to slam the book closed and toss it into the shelf behind me when she turned around.

If he had found out what I was reading he would have freaked.

I read most of these stories, and they made me giggle. I have so many stories of my own. But I'll just tell one:

I used to have to hide my adoration of yaoi from my parents, just like most of the stories I read in this thread. So I'd sneak off to Waldenbook's when my mum took me to the local mall, and I'd snitch Gravataion volumes off the shelves. I'd scamper over to the little kids' section and after wedging myself between large fluffy stuffed animals, I'd proceed to devour my little goodies before my mum got back.

Well, one time, it just so happened that the little kids' section wasn't so deserted as it usually is; small children were everywhere. I started swearing to myself, but took my usual seat and tried to read. Halfway through volume two, I hit the part where Eiri and Shuichi have there big "Hey, let's have sex!" moment. I kept glancing around, making sure no one was paying attention... But I could feel myself going a little red. x3

"Hey, lady?"
Dammit. The little kids had found me.
"Huh? What?" I snapped, trying to hide my little stack of manga.
"Why're you blushing?"
I glared at them for a moment, then loudly replied, "Because I'm trying to read my man porn and you keep bothering me."

Heh. Needless to say, their mums weren't very happy with me.

I've never met any other yaoi fangirls. Like, ever. sad

I have a story now. xd

So, when I finally went out and bought Earthian, I took volumes 2-4 to the counter, grinning madly, got out my purse and waited for the guy at the counter to tell me how much they were. Hehe. They were the deluxe edition with the really pretty covers. The guy at the till even said that the covers were very nice, so I grinned even more madly, because he didn't know they were yaoi. Then I went back to where my yaoi-fangirl friend was standing, jumped and punched the air and basically yelled "WOOHOO! Three volumes of YAOI MANGA!!" She told me to shut up and looked around in a very paranoid way, because the store was full of people.

SQUEE I have a bookstore experience!! =D

the last time I went to Waldenbooks is when I finally got my new glasses so since I was done I left and went Waldenbooks (which was next store)

and i began reading a few more volumes of Gravitation, this guy walked up to the self and began reading a book too, but before that he was like 'Gravitation tehe." So I went "Uhhh....okayyy?"

So I kept on reading then a kid below me was reading Naruto and kept looking at the manga I was reading.

Then his dad saw what I reading (Because I was facing the bookshelf) and he saw his son lookign at it and all of sudden he said "okay I'll buy you the book...lets go" and dragged his son away...XDDD

rofk I thought it was funny because the dood seemed like those "all american types" that are like the surgeon general guy...totally against homosexuality.

XDD pretty different from the japanese...lol there its alla obut yaoi XDD they pretty much view homosexuality as the purest form of love. x3

xxD Homg, Ambereyes, that was brilliant!
Eheheh.
Ohyes, the earthians deluxe editions are so shiny *_* Unfortunately, they don't sell volume one... only like volume 7 or something e__é

Okay, this isnt really a BOOKSTORE dilemma but it went something like this:
My friend Ash drags me and a few other people off to a CHRISTIAN youth group, because she said they'd give us chocolate. And we're all like talking about our little weird tendencies... mine and zander's yaoi fandom, and Ashley squealing over Cloud and such. Zander and I go: "Sephiroth is hot too, you know! Especially on top of cloud" and zander keeps yelling extremely gay things... like during the quiz, he went "Miniskirts?" "Naked men on top of eachother?"

So anyway, one of Ash's friends tells another guy that Zander wants to make out with him xD (She made that up, the guy wasnt hot)
And we were in a extremely lesbian dogpile on the floor, and he just STOOD THERE staring at us for like EVER. And these are the same christians who read the bible like eveyday and stuff xD The ones that consider "god" a good being (even though he burnt whole villages just because there were like one or two gay guys around) and such, and here we are, atheist/heathen pervert club... it was golden. We've like broken EVERY SINGLE deadly sin xD

*laugh* You remind me of my best friend and I. Except it's the reverse- we're always talking about yaoi manga in class (we sit in the back) except she's rather loud, and I'm always telling her to "lower her frickin' voice already." XD I remember her and my other best friend and I were talking in class and joking about how people think girls that like yaoi are lesbians, and how we never get that logic. (My poor friends- I turned both of them on to BL.) And one of my friends goes, "Yeah, we're so straight we love watching gay guys." or something along those lines. Well, the teacher was RIGHT BY US and she either didn't hear us or chose to ignore us, because she was rather loud. We laughed for a while after that.

Oh, man, did I have a good experience a couple weeks ago. So, one weekend my best friend and I felt the rouse to go shopping build up within us, so we drove to the nearest large city with the only mall in our area. Well, near the mall, there's this gigantic Borders, one of the only bookstores in the area that sells yaoi, so it's a given that we stop by whenever we're up there. Okay, so we walk in and go over to the huge manga section and as I'm browsing, there are these three "gansta" guys looking at the section next to it. So, I'm standing there facing the manga and they're facing their section in the same aisle and I'm grabbing all of these yaois and such and putting them in my pile. (When I go book shopping, I buy at least five...at least. lmao) Well, not only are they giving me weird looks because I'm looking at "gay porn" in their eyes, I'm dancing to music they're playing in the store. So, I decided to only get four books, since I was going prom dress shopping later, and the most slashiest was a plastic wrapped book entitled "Man's Best Friend", which has a very provocative picture on the cover. Well, I take my books up to the counter, and since I'm only seventeen, I was trying to get my eighteen year old friend to buy the books for me, but she left her ID in the car. So, I hand the older woman, maybe in her forties, at the register the books, hoping she wouldn't card me. Well, she rung up the books and read the title slowly, out loud each time. Once she got to "Man's Best Friend" I nearly cringed. Well, come to turn out, two of the books didn't ring out, so she rung them ALL up again and read ALL of the titles out loud again. Then, she read them out loud again as she put them in the bag. I was about to punch her and say "LADY, WOULD YOU GIVE ME MY PORN SO I CAN LEAVE WITHOUT A HEART ATTACK?!" It was all...very nerve-wracking. I shouldn't have been worried to be carded since I look like I'm nineteen or so. -_-'

I've also been sitting at my desktop watching yaoi when my dad walked into the kitchen, which you can look into the living room from. Sad thing was, I kept watching it and bested out laughing when the character started getting banged on the couch. My dad never said a word, but just walked back upstairs with his food.

I leave my yaoi sitting out all the time and I even have pictures of it on my walls. Sometimes I wonder what my parents think, since they kinda offered me psychiatric help when I told them I was bisexual a few years ago. I wonder if they're used to my interest in homosexual relationships or just in denial. roflmao.

That is one of the best stories I have ever heard!!!! Aslo. WHERE DID YOU FIND MAN'S BEST FRIEND?!?!?!?!?!?!?! THAT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!!! I READ SOME OF IT AS A PREVIEW. BUT NOW I CAN'T FIND IT!!!! crying Ok my ranting is done now. Also if you liked that then I sugesst Wild Rock. Onto my funny story!!!

Okay. I live in this really small town. My family is all Christian and so am I and whenever there's stuff about gay rights on tv they all start yelling about how wrong it is and I go off into my room. I'm the open minded one of the family. Anyway. We only have one book store. crying A Borders. The people who work there all know me even though they don't know my name. They just know me. I go in about every week after I get my pay check. So I buy BL all the time my familt non the wiser. The guy who usually checks me out is so cool. He's mexican and he's gay. So whenever I buy my BL or yaoi he just looks at for a second then smiles at me all nice like and I smile as warmly as I can. I never get ID'ed people think I'm 19 when I'm only 15 biggrin

I don't have any good bookstore dilemma's. I usually go to Waldenbooks, (the other closest bookstore is an hour away xp ). The manga isle is always empty, always! But I still enter it cautiously, I'm the really shy girl in class who doesn't say anything. And I've heard a lot of offensive comments from people about those who like anime. We had a new girl who told someone he was gay for liking anime.
