Parisian Loafer I'm alright with homosexual relationships, both real and fantasy, but RPS reeeeally gets to me. I mean, you're slashing two people together and pretty much warping their image to your own preferences. I think that's an insult to the people involved (however, slash on live-action shows/movies, I won't object to, because it's only the characters and not the actual actors).
Sorry if any of this is unintelligible gibberish. It's a quarter 'till eleven where I am and my brain is half-asleep. No, you're making perfect sense. whee I feel the same way.
In my humble opinion, Real-life gay relationships = awesome. Gay porn = awesome. Slashing characters from live-action shows = awesome. Slashing REAL PEOPLE in which there is no evidence of a relationship = weird and not awesome.
To further clarify, Alexander the Great x Hephaestion would be okay, because there's pretty good historical evidence that they actually were lovers. If someone wants to write some historical fiction based on that, I think they should go right ahead. I'd probably enjoy reading it. However, George Washington x Ben Franklin is not okay. gonk
