[What Is Yaoi] Most Yaoi fans are girls?

People seem to get yaoi mixed up with Gei-comi a lot in this guild. Yaoi is made for women by women, it isn't meant to represent actual homosexual relationships.
Gei-comi is actual gay manga for men by men like yuri is for women by women.
So its not surprising most fans of yaoi are women seeing as thats the audience its directed at.

What does it really matter anyway? You don't see any of the female members of this guild making "Omg why are guys in a yaoi guild" threads. So far all the threads I've seen about this is made by the male members of the guild, if you wanted actual gay manga for gay men then find a gei-comi guild.

i agree with the ppl that say its nature i dont really like girl on girl but boy on boy its different since i like guys and watching 2 guys is better double the action rofl sweatdrop am a big fan i ve been also wantin to watch a yuri anime so i can compare i just havnt had the chance

Actually that's not the idea that started yaoi mangaka off. Its not that it attracts women because its something they can't be involved in.
If it were, then yaoi would be an actual representation of homosexuals like in Gei-comi which has a very small female following.
It was created to attract women becuase they can relate to the uke. Yaoi is pretty much hetero relationships but with a feminine male replacing the female role. The initial popularity of yaoi stems from the fact that women can relate to the uke as both are in the submissive role in relationships.
The same can be said with why yuri is for women too, it doesn't depict actual lesibian relationships it only replaces the male role with a more masculine female. It also explains why so many non-lesbian women enojy yuri too.

that is the perfect way to explain it....guys are the exact same way toward two girls together....its just...human nature.

Women like men. Women like romance. Women go wild for two beautiful men in romantic relationships. Add sex and it's a bonus. Yaoi is for women, by women. If men end up enjoying it, that's ok too, but they are not the target audience, we girls are.

I'm not sure why women are so into it. When I first found yaoi, I didn't even really like it. But then I found more yaoi and I started actually liking it. I still don't know how it happened.
