Kenichi sighed and stood after a few minutes, deciding to follow Utsuki after all. Of course, he'd make sure Utsuki didn't know he was being followed. As far as trusting the kid's father went, Kenichi didn't, and he wasn't going to risk having Utsuki in a compromising situation again.

Kenichi still couldn't figure out why he even cared when he'd never cared about anyone but himself before, but if feelings were this strong, he wasn't going to ignore them. It wasn't like he could anyway. Ursuki was like a magnet to him. When they arrived at the police station, Kenichi hid under a window that he was pretty certain was the window in the police chief's office, watching and listening to everything that went on.

It didn't take long to reach the station, but Utsuki did spend a lot of time standing outside. How would Dad react to seeing him? Would he just ignore him like every other time? Or would he get mad? Whatever happens, it probably won't be good.

Utsuki sighed, knowing he couldn't stand outside the police station the whole time. He would have to go in there and hope Dad was out chasing bad guys. He didn't want to deal with the man. It had already been proven that even though he would have to face the deadly temper once or twice a year, he had developed a phobia of some sort.

From his hiding spot, Kenichi could see that Utsuki's father was in his office, typing madly away on his computer. The criminal growled softly to himself. If the chief tried anything, Kenichi would interfere, whether or not they were in the middle of the police station. He didn't care.

Utsuki stayed in front of his father's office for quite a while. He had managed to enter the station, but now he couldn't bring himself to go past this last door. According to the sound of typing, his father was here, which was somewhat a bad thing.

As much as he would like to go back home, he knew there was no way he could. Dad was too busy to go home for lunch, and the only other option was for Utsuki to deliver something to him. Besides, he already made the ramen, and it was starting to get cold.

"Just go in already," Kenichi growled to himself, talking to Utsuki even though he knew the kid couldn't hear him. He saw and heard the exact moment Utsuki did finally enter the office. The typing stopped and the chief looked up. Unfortunately, Kenichi couldn't see the look on Utsuki's father's face; he had his back to the window. Kenichi decided to watch body language and Utsuki's reactions to make sure nothing was wrong.

Utsuki finally made his mind and entered the office. At the moment, he and his father were having a staring contest. The chief looked surprised and really annoyed, and Utsuki would have run off if he didn't have any good reason to be here.

"You were out late last," Chief Kizai finally stated, moving to stand in front of his desk. "There's a criminal on the loose, Utsuki. A dangerous criminal. you can't just go out at whatever time of the night you feel like."

Kenichi growled and clenched his fists. He wasn't a dangerous criminal where Utsuki was concerned, something he still didn't understand. And it was "a dangerous criminal"s fault the kid was even out last night. Actually, it was really the chief's fault, but Kenichi had been the one to insist Utsuki came with him.

Utsuki began to shake. It was weird standing here, since it had been a long time since he was here. "S-sorry, Dad, I just haven't been thinking straight lately," he said. "I didn't mean to be out so late. The attic didn't feel safe anymore that night."

"That's not an excuse, Utsuki," he growled. "You should know better than to go outside that late at night."

Kenichi stood in front of the window, in full view of both males inside, if Chief Kizai turned around. If the chief kept talking like that, or made one wrong move, Kenichi was breaking in the window.

"Y-yes, sir," Utsuki said remorsefully. It wasn't until a few moments later that he presented the box of ramen. "Uh... I made this for you. I thought you might get hungry, since you're busy and all." He doubted that his father would accept the box, but at least he came here to deliver it.

Chief Kizai sighed. "Leave it in the break room in the fridge. I'll eat it later." He sighed and sat back down at his desk. "Thank you, Utsuki. Go home."

Kenichi growled and ducked back out of sight. There were many things he was dying to shout at the man through the window, but decided that given who he was, it was a bad idea. He didn't need to be arrested on charges of disturbing the peace on top of the rest of his crimes.

Utsuki nodded and left the office, putting the ramen in the break room fridge and soon leaving the station. Once outside, he let out a sigh in relief. The visit went relatively well, though Dad was as reserved as ever. At least none of the terrible scenes in Utsuki's mind happened.

Once they were a good distance away from the police station, Kenichi made himself known, appearing seemingly out of nowhere next to Utsuki. "Your father is a bas- a jerk. A big jerk that I'd like to punch one day," he snarled.

"It's not his fault," Utsuki retorted. "He's just disappointed he had a son that didn't live up to his expectations." Well, that wasn't entirely true. Most of Dad's current personality was part of mom's death. It had hardly anything to do with Utsuki not being manly.

Kenichi snorted. "Your family is pretty full of lame excuses for your actions. Do you know that? I mean, he's your father. He should accept you for whatever you are. Like, if you decided you were gay and told him, would he kick you out?"
