Daisuke Tatsumi 
Darkness. It was all darkness. So dark, and cold, and quiet.
He felt as though he were floating. Floating in nothingness.
He missed...what was his name. The warm one. The one with the golden hair.
It was all fading.
Who was he, anyway?
"You've done well." a soothing voice came from nowhere and everywhere all at once.
"Your life as a human is over, and we are very proud of the work you have done. Even so, your job is not over. You have an even greater purpose, this time around. Go now, and become something new."
A blinding light overcame him, and Daisuke was no more, at least not in any form he had been previously.
On Earth, the man's empty shell of a body still lay on the pavement, sirens blaring in the distance as police and paramedics rushed to the scene, though there was nothing anybody could do now.

 It had been nearly a week since he had revealed himself to humans on earth. The master angels had saved him by locking any humans memory of the event when he had revealed his wings. Kail had refused to return to heaven for awhile after he had discovered Daisuke had not been reborn as an angel or human. Kail's anguish had only grown and refused to return to heaven.
Kail had been staying at Daisuke's home the whole time refusing to leave and only occasionally going outside to walk around in the sun. The master angels came to check on him every day but Kail didn't listen to them, he seemed dead inside. He was lost without Daisuke.

Takehiko 
Six months passed.
Takehiko was a young demon, but he was already in great favor with the devil. He possessed a great power, had learned to control his magic and use spells that few demons could ever master, he caused all sorts of mischief, and he was one of the most clever and cunning demons to ever come into being.
In fact, Satan was proud to call Takehiko his son.
Being the son of the devil came with great expectations however, and, though he was just a baby in demon age, he was sent to the human world to get used to his power in a more hands-on fashion.
On Earth, Takehiko walked down a street, taking a somewhat inconspicuous form. Silently, he regarded the humans that bustled about. Soon he would start having fun with them.

Kail had been slowly coming out more in the past few months, he had been walking around outside for awhile now. Then suddenly he got a feeling and began to walk outside of Daisuke's house. Something was calling him outside of Daisuke's home. There was something there something familiar.

Takehiko
Takehiko stopped short in the middle of the sidewalk, sniffing at the air. A few people looked at him strangely, though that could have been due to the fact that he was dressed like a teenage goth.
"The hell is this? It smells...familiar." the devil said to no one in particular.
Suddenly, a woman walking down the sidewalk with her young son stopped and gasped as she saw him.
"Ah..gomen...for a moment...I thought you were an old friend of mine. Impossible..he's dead. Forgive me." she explained before walking quickly past.
Takehiko merely sneered, walking in the direction of that strange, sweet smell that was wafting through the air as if calling his name.

Kail moved closer to where he had been walking with Diasuke when the man has died. He felt his chest tighten the closer he got to the spot. He could feel the tears prickling at the edge of his vision. "Angel!" came the yell of a man. Kail turned around to look at who had called him. Seeing the man he had met the day before daisuke had died.

Rounding the corner, Takehiko was rather surprised to find himself looking at an angel. Before the angel could see him, however, he stepped back behind the corner, watching as the angel looked at a strange man.
The demon prince snickered as he realized that the angel had been noticed by this man. And to top it off, this angel seemed rather clueless, and pathetic.
Takehiko simply stood there and looked on as he contemplated what to do.

Kail was surprised by the man he encountered before. He backed up a bit remembering that Daisuke had told him to stay away from the man. "I'm sorry who are you?" Kail questioned softly.
"You don't remember me, I came delivering mail to the house and we met there." the man said. Kail shook his head trying to turn around to see what was peaking spiritually on the edge of his mind. The man however kept moving in front of him.

Smiling, Takehiko tried not to laugh to himself as he watched this crazy human coming after the angel. The angel, obviously, had little to no skill and was bound to get himself in a heap of trouble, possibly even get hurt.
The crazy human was almost at the angel when Takehiko felt a strange...sickness...well up in his stomach.
The feeling caught the devil off guard. He had never felt such a thing before, but the feeling in his gut told him...for some reason, he couldn't let the angel get hurt. He had to do something, and fast.
Bursting from around the corner, Takehiko let off a menacing red glow, sending a gust of fiery energy toward the man that knocked him down.
Standing in front of Kail, his arms spread wide in a defensive pose, he yelled at the man.
"Get out of here now, if you know what's good for you. I won't let you harm my angel!"
My angel? he thought to himself. Why had he said that? What he had meant was this angel. Odd.

Kail was beginning to panic a bit as the human kept moving in front of him as if not allowing him to escape. Kail could tell he was in a dangerous situation but he didn't have an escape, the master angels weren't going to check for him until later and Daisuke, Daisuke was gone.
Kail was surprised when the man was suddenly knocked to the ground by a fiery energy. He was even more surprised to suddenly have a man stand in between him and the other man who had been knocked to the ground. The man standing between him looked strangely like Daisuke from the back. A gasp was torn from Kail's throat as he heard the man's voice. There was no doubt in his mind as the man who had bugged him ran off that the man before him was Daisuke.
Kail didn't waste a moment when the other man disappeared around a corner. He quickly wrapped his arms around 'Daisuke's' chest and cried. All his grief and anguish erupting from his body.

The demon prince chuckled as the stupid man ran off.
"What an idiot..." he said, but was cut off when a pair of warm arms wrapped around him and a sobbing angel attached himself to his back.
"Er...um..." he turned around inside the angel's grasp, now looking down at the crying boy, putting his hands on his shoulders and gently stepping back.
"Look...little angel...I know you're grateful, but don't read anything into it. I was just having a little fun. Been kinda boring lately." he said.
Though he intended to leave now, something told him he had to stay. He felt he really shouldn't care, but something about the crying angel bothered him deeply.

 Kail looked up as 'Daisuke' put his hands on his shoulders and stepped back away from him. Kail shook his head as 'Daisuke' assumed he was grateful, while that was true it wasn't that case of why he was crying. "Thats not it." Kail protested.
"Your Daisuke, I didn't...I didn't want to believe that you had been reborn a demon but you are." Kail cried wiping his tears away furiously. "I don't care though." He said stubbornly.

Blinking, Takehiko took another step back. This angel was mistaking him for somebody that he simply could not be.
Perhaps he had become desperate with grief. Seeing the angel so upset and listening to what he had to say, apparently he had lost someone of great importance to him.
"I am sorry, little angel. I am not the person you are wishing to see."

Kail shook his furiously as 'Daisuke' told him that he wasn't who he though he was. "You....you don't remember...." Kail gasped his chest tightening even more. "What were you? What were you before you were a demon?" Kail questioned tears shinning in his eyes. "Daisuke..." Kail pleaded.

The more the angel begged and pleaded, the more uncomfortable Takehiko felt. He was a demon, he should have been laughing at this sort of thing. Instead, he felt intensely vulnerable and somehow...upset. Taking Kail by the hand, he began to lead him to Daisuke's house.
Pausing for a moment, he wondered to himself why he was taking the angel to this strange house. It had just seemed like the thing to do.
"Little angel, I think you need to calm down and rest..." the devil soothed.
