Thought I'd do some research over Charon. Here are the basics:
Charon the OLD MAN *gets beaten by oar*
An old man clad in foul garb, with haggard cheeks, an unkempt beard and fierce, piercing eyes.
Ferryman of Hades who carries the souls of the newly deceased across the rivers of Hell to the Palace of Hades. A coin (usually obolus or danake) is given to Charon as the payment for passage.
Impatient, easily angered or irritated with a fierce character, although a little dull. He is often depicted (in a funny style) forcing reluctant sinners into the boat by beating them with his HOLY WEAPON OF AN oar.
He is usually seen with an oar over his shoulder, ready to beat those who delay him.
However, there are many, many interpretations of him from different times. It's still up to the RP-er to see how he/she would like to interpret him.
