Seeing the movie is actually what got me into it.

I'll admit it was a horrible movie. But I went out and bought the entire anime on DVD. XDD LOL!!

I'm into the 2nd book now, but it's taking a long time to finish it. rofl

im a fan too, but the 2 recent movies killed it...

1. avatar stole half of its name (why the **** was it called avatar anywho, sheesh)
2. TLAB where all the main characters in the movie are played by white people...theyr asian! asian! why is it so hard to not be racist? (its just like how goku was the only white kid in the entire movie...)

I know what you mean! I was like "LOL! Why are Katara and Sokka white?"

In the anime, they were dark-skinned.

And they mispronounced everything. They called Avatar "Ah-vi-tar" and Sokka "Sou kah".

And yeah, it was kinda messed up. I didn't know when I watched the movie that it was so off, but as I watch the anime, I'm like "Wow, they really missed the mark with that one".
