Ehh, I'm just a bit a**l retentive when it comes to color disbursement and placement. If you're going to go for an accent color, then you better make sure you're in All one shade/color before tossing in your accent piece. sweatdrop *Steps down off soapbox*
Anywho, suggestions on the current avatar? Honestly, the black-ish base of the main clothing is a good start but, you need some more defined lines. Some things you could do about that are, try the Oxblood gloves rather then black, to compliment the Tome's red ribbon, change the shoes to something either red or purple, since it looks like your legs and feet are the same part of your body at the moment. o.O Or, just go bonkers and remove the Dark Halo's postion (I would suggest keeping the Halo, just postioned over your head wink ). and to cover your face with Yokai's Treasure in the Oni Mask postion.
Yet, that's just one girls opinion. :B

Though I don't really dig the bao since they look pretty weird attached to your hat and not hair ^_^||| But oh well, maybe you're having them to balance out your wings? Even so, they still look weird to me. Maybe it's just me xD

Yes, the bao was to even out the coloring of the wings. Sadly, I don't believe there are leggings/pantie hose/stockings in that sort of iridescent white/blue color or, I'd have them on too. xD
10/10 for your avi. I'll explain. ^^
Even if there are many things on top of each other, clothing/item-wise, it's still works. The colors, the layering, the whole look is outstanding. As my friend says, "It's controlled Chaos, and it works." Well done.
