The gender of the previous person doesn't matter. You're just looking at the number and altering that based on your own gender.
Since you're playing for the men's team, you -always- subtract 2.
The goal for the men is to make the number eventually reach 0 while the goal for the women is for the number to eventually reach 100.
Think of it like a jar of pennies. Every time a woman walks by the jar, she drops a penny in, while every time a guy walks by the jar, he takes two out.
So your post should have been 43 which would make this post 41
