"Sirius is trying to find away so Remus won't have to face Greyback alone."

Lily rolled her eyes. "I gathered that much, James. Who's the "big black dog" they're talking about?"
"You better be, or I swear Greyback will regret ever harming you or allowing you to come to harm."

"Just a dog that seems quite fond of Remus and likes to make sure he's safe."
Remus smiled. "What is with you and James threatening his lately. I promise I'll be fine." He kissed him.

James turned to Remus. "Hey Moony Lily wants to meet your dog. Do you think she could?"
"Yeah I guess that would be fine."

Sirius grinned, enjoying the joke between him, Remus, and James. He was glad to have a topic other than Fenrir Greyback to talk about. "I'll bring him down during lunch. I think you might like him a lot. He's sweet and friendly, but he smells like the devil."
Lily laughed. "That's fine. I love dogs, no matter what they smell like."

Lily raised a questioning eyebrow but didn't push the matter.

Sirius snorted. "You'd have a hard time with that. He's got fleas. And let me tell you, they're murder. He can't ever seem to get rid of them no matter how many baths we give him."
Lily was thoroughly confused. "Are you guys planning on telling me what you're really talking about or are you going to keep talking in riddles? And I can figure out riddles easily."

James shook his head. "Well I guess the dog's out of the bag now."

It Lily a couple of seconds, then her eyes widened in comprehension. "He is registered, right," she asked, sounding urgent.
Sirius paused when he overheard James and Lily's conversation. "Of course I'm not, Evans. How many people in the ministry do expect to believe a fifth year student learned how to become an animagus?"
