"This data we recovered from the metal empire is incredible. To imagine they have such resources and remain neutral," Nero was speaking to himself of course. The heat of the savanna was causing Gomamon, a water digimon, to lag far behind. Every few minutes Nero would look back to check up on Gomamon. After fifteen minutes of continual moans, Nero caved. "Fine you can ride on my shoulder," the minute he said this Gomamon pounced onto his shoulder. The digimon was heavier then it looked. Wandering in the savannah to observe the natural gear phenomena had already worn greatly on his stamina. Nero's legs began to grow heavy with exhaustion. The tamer himself was about to sit down to rest, when he noticed a speck in the distance. "That thing, human shaped?" He question. Gomamon squinted his eyes, trying to make out the shape on the horizon. "The last person we encountered completely wrecked our bus. I liked that bus" The digimon commented. Nero agreed, it was never wise to lower one's guard in the digital world, and the bus had been rather nice.

Jay quickly spotted the other Tamer in the distance it would seem that the heat from the Savanna has grown quite normal to him and his digimon as he did not at all feel affected by this intense heat, Jay quickly took a few steps heading towards the Tamer before the wind quickly began to pick up and from four large boulders around Jay four large NiseDrimogemon surrounded Jay, he smirked at the challenge he simply raised his right hand and pointed at the NiseDrimogemon before he spoke his voice seemed dark"Shadow delete" with those words the Guilmon quickly became enveloped by data and quickly digivolved into a Blackwargrowlmon and stepped up to the NiseDrimogemon that seemed to be the leader of the rest and his body quickly seemed like a blur as he quickly passed the opposing digimon and turned around to see the digimon fall and shatter into data before he laughed and said "Come on was that the best you could bring not even worth me awaking up" Jay then once again smirked and pointed to his Veemon, the small Veemon smiled big before he stood up and jumped in the air his body became enveloped in data and he quickly digivolved into a Beelzemon BM and jumped into the air his blaster pointing down and he quickly fired off 3 fast and powerful shots but these shots were actually distractions as the remaining NiseDrimogemon defended from the shots the blackwargrowlmon quickly released his own short burst atomic blasters that quickly blasted through the opposing digimon.

It did not Nero long to realize just what was unfolding. The person he had spotted was indeed a tamer, and a strong one as well. He was wiping the floor with the local Nisedrimogemon. Even though Nero was perfectly aware digimon never truly died, the sight still stung. The feeling the swelled within him though, was not disgust but intrigue. Yes, this tamer's wanton destruction would serve a purpose. Gomamon whimpered, as a ghoulish smirk spread across his tamer's face. The mask was coming back on. "Well my friend, it seems we've met a kind traveler. Let's give him a proper welcoming," Nero suggested, his face sneering.
The tamer gripped his digi-vice. The situation would need tact. Rushing in and challenging the tamer to a fight would serve no purpose. He would need to provoke the tamer into attacking him instead. With purpose to motivate him, Nero's exhaustion all but vanished. This was different than observing simple gears, he had found a possible accomplice. He ran towards the tamer, stopping the last few yards to walk. With every step, Nero began to clap slowly, first impressions were everything. The digimon being slaughtered around him, the blasts fired from beezlemon's rifle. Neither phased the tamer one bit. He simply continued to walk until he stood face to face. Almost immediately he quit clapping. The sneer that curled around his lips began to fade into a smirk. He stood strong, seemingly uncaring for the Nisedrimogemon. After a moment of silence Nero spoke, his voice layered with sarcasm. "Tell me, is it the right of the strong to oppress the weak, and if that is so what happens to the strong when another, stronger one comes along?" Nero questioned, it was not a greeting but a challenge. If the tamer acted in the way he predicted, then this battle was his. If he acted against prediction, then that made the situation all the more interesting.

The expression on Jay's face did not change he was calm and his eyes were dark and had a sense of pure evil in his attitude he then spoke "When a being whom believes he is stronger then I enters my Savanna and threatens me he is asking me to show him who the king of this place is" he then silently turned around and began to walk back towards his cave his Blackwargrowlmon quickly reverting to a Guilmon and his BeelzemonBM quickly reverting to a Veemon they both followed him quickly the Guilmon's red bandana clinging onto his neck while the Veemon's black bandana clinged to his right arm neither of them spoke but it could be seen that each were complete opposites yet both childish in their own way while the Seraphimon on the other hand silently bowed to the other tamer before he began following the rest the Flamwizardmon paid no attention what so ever to the other tamer.

The tamer had chosen to ignore him, that gave Nero room to act. He turned the opposite direction and began to walk away. The attack had stopped, he was glad for that. For the few Nisedrimogemon that remained however, they could become useful. Nero walked to them, trying his best not to be phased by their groans of agony. He knelt before the one which seemed the largest. If Digimon acted in the same way humans did, then the strongest would be the leader. "Do you really intend to die now, starved of vengeance, ruled over by an ungrateful king. Assist me just this once and you will be free once more to do as you please," Nero propositioned, whispering so none of the digimon surrounding them would hear. The nisedrimogemon nodded weakly, his entire form shaking in fear of approaching death. "Now then, I'll explain something simple. The tamer may have been slaughtering you and your forces, but that was simply because you did not take advantage of your own strengths. Use that drill of yours to hide in the ground, where he will be unable to harm you," Pangs of guilt flared in Nero's chest. Was he sending the survivors to the deaths simply to test the proxy of this tamer. No, this simply was a means to an end. He decided, as long as the mask was on he would have to forget his own morals. Nero drew a recovery floppy from his sleeve, activating it to heal what few survivor's there were. The rest could not be helped, they had already been turned into eggs. Immediately a dozen or so Nisedrimogemon stood up and began to drill into the ground. They had already decided to face their own oppressor, Nero's words simply pushed them off the edge. Their form was impressive, for a last minute resistance that was. They charged Jay, the only sign of their passage a trail of disturbed dirt. Instead of attacking directly though, they simply dug. SIlently working, until the ground Jay stood on became weak. Almost at once it gave way, leading to a large pit trap designed by the Nisedrimogemon. Nero expected this to fail, but it was a valiant effort regardless.

Jay smirked he quickly heard the drills and knew what they would be planning so he quickly looked at his Seraphimon who quickly nodded and was quickly enveloped by data and quickly shifted into a Vikemon(his original form) who quickly touched the ground and used his Arctic Blizzard attack and froze the ground stopping the Nisedrimogemons frozen where they were drilling before he quickly slammed his large maces on the ground shattering them into data quickly, Jay then silently turned and looked at Nero before he spoke"So you would send weaklings to attempt to harm me and my team are you asking to be deleted along with those NiseDrimongemon" his voice seemed dark and his attitude slightly angry.

"No. No. Nothing like that," Nero claimed, and unbearably smug smirk lurking on his lips. "Just a test that is all, I was fully aware the Nisedrimogemon would be unable to hurt you, I simply wanted to see how you would deal with them," Hands folded Nero gestured to his own digimon, and to the eggs which lie scattered around the savannah. "Ruthlessness is a fine quality for those who seek to accomplish a goal, something I lack. You could continue to fight for this barren place, but nothing would change." Nero cited this a this as his reason for action, nothing changed about the digital world. Those humans who came to the world never left, whenever a major event shook the foundation of the world all eventually returned to the same stage of uneasy balance. If the fighting were to ever stop, one side would need to win permanently. Yet Nero was not as ruthless as he pretended to be. Jay could serve a purpose. "You're nothing but a sword who fights without cause, assist me and I could give you that cause," Nero offered, holding a hand out. Whether or not Jay accepted would decide both of their fates.

Jay silently looked at Nero his red eyes seemed to glow in the light he then silently pointed to the eggs which Vikemon then quickly digivolved back into his Seraphimon form and and simply flapped his wings and the eggs seemed to blow away quickly, the Guilmon then looked at Nero before looking at Jay and speaking his voice similar to Jay's "Jaymon his worked alone his entire time in this world i doubt he would join you" he then walked to the cave where he sat down outside of it and watched everything. Jay then quickly smirked and nodded"Shadow is right you know, A man comes into my place and requests me to join him yet he shows me no power or anything. Give me a reason why i should join you and why i should not delete your digimon and destroy your device" his eyes looked heartless and evil compared to the way it was when he had first entered the digital world.

"If all you seek is strength, you'll end life early and disappointed," Nero lectured, it was almost instinctual. He would have simply left the boy alone in most normal circumstances, this was barely worth the effort. However, he did not want Jay to become an obstacle later on, and he could be useful in ascertaining the purpose of the gears. As long as the end was justified by the means, the thought rang in his head, almost like a motto. It was all that could keep him from cracking up at Jay's pahtetc attempts at intimidation. Or perhaps he truly was a lone wolf. "Oh well all the more interesting," Nero mouthed to himself. Cold and calculating, that was the only way to deal with these people. He had tried a friendly gesture, he had tried intimidation, it seemed this encounter was destined to end in a fight. "When in rome I suppose," Nero would play along for now. The boy slowly drew his digivice, it was a dark navy blue, almost black. Tamers of past lore had been defined by the colors of their digivice, Gomamon had told Nero once, at more peaceful times his mind would wonder about his own digivice. Now was not the time for such thoughts, the upcoming battle would occupy his thoughts. "Surely you jest, destroying me would serve no purpose. How about an actual challenge before we devolve into threats. I'll lay it out for you, your guilmon fights my own. Simple enough?" Nero spoke the last part slowly, in case the brute could not keep up with his pace. Nero clamped his fist around the digivice, releasing his own blackguilmon. Gomamon waved cheerfully, but blackguilmon was too busy trying to imitate his tamer's playful smirk to notice. "Alright Vincent, this is nothing more than a friendly match. Nothing to worry about," Nero was cautious about sending Vincent out to fight, the digimon was far too innocent to be battling such a vicious individual. There wasn't much of a choice here though, Guilmon was the most likely strategy to bring victory. A risky stategy, but those who weren't willing to take risks could never reap a reward.

Jay smirked and thought to him self obviously this tamer had not seen Shadow's special rage that had damaged a large amount of Network city while in the fight again Marcus(Liger) so he silently drew his pitch black digivice from his pocket as it began to glow black and he spoke to his digimon"Shadow don't be afraid to release your rage like you did against Dustin and Marcus." With that the Guilmon's eyes quickly changed into slits like a reptile that was in hunter mode as he turned to the other Guilmon a faint flame could be seen dripping from his jaw this flame was no normal fire though it was Shadow's special intense heat that he had gained from his split personality and rage when he had first entered the digital world with Jay he then quickly cracked his neck and stood ready no longer speaking all that could be heard from him was a Violent growl. Jay then silently leaned against one of the gears around him and watched his Guilmon while his other digimon simply stood there and watched.

"Don't be intimidated Vincent, this is nothing but a trivial battle. I trust you," A pitch black digivice, how symbolic, Nero observed. Not the blackness of the tamers heart, but the oblivion he was destined to reach if he continued down this path. Nero was trying to offer him a way out, why must he make it so difficult. Relying on rage was a faulty strategy, it was not something that could be controlled. Resolve was a much stronger emotion, more consistant and bold. Nero would not such an unstable emotion to win. Rage blurred one's thoughts, something that disgusted the tamer.
"Rrrret's Go Nero!" Vincent shouted, his speech slurred by his own growling. Nero smiled warmly, something that was unusual for the tamer. Yet he remained silent, not wanting to reveal to much about his strategy. Guilmon instead acted on instinct. As the growl reached him, Vincent raised both hands in front of his face to shield himself. "Rock crusher," Nero commanded, Vincent obeyed immediately bashing his fists on the ground. The powdery dirt of the savannah formed a cloud, obscuring the opponent's view of him. "Fire." Nero muttered, a simple enough command. Purple fireball's shot out of the cloud, one after another intending to pepper their opponent with mutlitple blasts.

Jay smirked as he knew the tricks of the Savanna, and did not need to order his Guilmon around he simply leaned back and observed as the Guilmon saw the dust come up he quickly jumped to the left allowing the purple flame to blast past him before he quickly released a blast of white fire through his opponent's own distraction slightly scorching the ground under the fire. Jay smirked and he spoke his voice seemed to slightly echo"You believe that Shadow's rage mode leaves him without control. That is where you are wrong, me and shadow trained since day one to control his rage mode it may slightly blur his control of telling whom is who but he knows what he is doing" he smirked about the fact that his Guilmon has been through intense training since day one in the hot heat of the Savanna that normally drives a digimon's vision and senses to be blurred so using his rage mode actually made him feel normal but exhausted him slightly faster after all there is always a down fall for a powerful increase.

"All the training in the world won't stop destiny," Nero declared. In his mind this was nothing more than an experiment. A test. Nothing more. The most important part of an experiment was to be in control of every variable. Rage was nothing more than a variable, if he left it out of control it would corrupt his entire thought process. Nero did not have time to stop and think. Immediately after rebutting Jay's lame attempt at intimidation, Vincent sprung from the cloud. Jumping to the left to dodge his flames left his flank vulnerable. As the dust cloud was blasted away, Blackguilmon's claws became visible. They were covered in purple flames, destined to cause alot of pain to the intended targets. For a moment, time froze as the two guilmon stared at one another. Nero smirked, time sped up, and Vincent brought his claws down in a devastating arc, aimed at the digimon's side. "Tell me again, what is this power you speak of. It seems our digimon are equally matched when restricted to rookie form," Nero wondered for a moment if Jay would be able to resist the sweet temptation of his challenge. Digivolving would make the battle all the more interesting, and Nero was tiring of Jay's constant bragging. If this rage mode as truly something to behold, he would find out soon enough. Until then Nero remained vigilant, waiting for his opponent to trip up. A weakness to exploit, an opening to claw his way through, one little mistake. If his opponent was flawless, then perhaps he would be the one serving Jay. However that was very unlikely.

Jay's digivice began to glow darker then before and he spoke his voice sure of himself"Shadow, he wishes for you to show him what your true skills are." The Guilmon quickly smiled before he slammed his tail into the ground much like his opponent had done before but when this smoke cleared Shadow was no where to be seen, but the moment Jay knew his opponent would realize that Shadow had disappeared Shadow had actually jumped high in the sky above his opponent before he quickly released a large stream of white fire and encircled his opponent's BlackGuilmon before he quickly then dive bombed down through his ring of fire Causing the flames that had not hit the ground yet but were still falling to surround him so that even if his opponent dodged the dive which would most likely still damage him due to the fire around him so when he hit the ground or his opponent it would cause an explosion of his white flames this was one of his most deadly attacks due to the heat of the flames and the power of the compressed air that would all at once explode and would even harm Shadow some due to the fire all around him but due to his rage mode not as much as it would usually.

"What pointless acrobatics," Remarked Nero, nearly yawning. His response to a flank strike was to jump higher. It started to seem as if his opponent were winging it. In the time it took Shadow to jump high enough to perform his attack, Rasen had already devised a counter. Vincent was now standing on the ground, gravity having done it's job. In a moment he was surrounded by flames. Which didn't worry Nero too much, fire breathing digimon would need to be resistant to such flames. It might sting a little, but nothing fatal. A concussive blast would be much more damaging. Nero needed a way to avoid this. Multiple situations popped into his mind, each ending in fiery defeat. This was not a clever move at all, simply a demonstration of brute strength. Flames were as unpredictable as rage, and as easy to vanquish. A simple quickfire plan was all he needed. Nero spotted one of the eggs of the slayed Nisedrimogemon, and an idea sparked in his mind. "Vincent bury yourself," He shouted, just as Shadow began to divebomb. The digimon obeyed instantly, the flames surrounding him only increasing his sense of urgency. The ground was already weak from Nisedrimogemon's drilling, it only took a few rockbreakering swipes before a nice Vincent sized hole was formed. Immediately after he covered himself with a layer of dirt the concussive blast erupted. Vincent, safe from harm waited it out. Nero bit his lip, not wanting to reveal too much about his nerves. The ground above Vincent had been dyed red with heat from the explosion. It had taken the brunt of the explosion's force. A moment later Nero's worries were put to rest. Vincent exploded from the ground, surrounded by his own trademark purple flames. Once more he took potshots at Shadow with his fireballs, trying to force the digimon into jumping once more. Nero secretly wondered how often they could perform a divebomb attack such as that without losing control. It was an interesting thought, almost enough to distract him from the matter at hand. "This does not seem like a rage capable of wrecking network city," Nero commented, clearly not amused, another tempting sentence. Nero wondered how long this primitive minded boy would resist before he bit the bait. Once he did though, Nero would call check. Then the real fun would begin.
