*after chatting with Hayley for a little while, goes off to find Mitri*

Kits Rose

*Kits and Mitri walk into Aqua Springs. Mitri goes off to explore the addition with Smok sitting on his shoulder. Kits walks up to the young woman at the front desk to see what's going on* Hello... Haley, right?

For once, some of the staff did not say hi to Kits when she came in. Most didn't even see her. They were all so busy talking about what they had heard earlier while also trying to do their work.

Daniel considered the question, and became slightly concerned when he found he wasn't recalling any hard facts. He reasoned the question logically, and got the best that he could come up with.

"Well, understanding a legitmate threat would require understanding not only people, but the surroundings they are in. I will be honest that I am unfamiliar with the manners of a business such as this, but I am very quick at learning things, and I rarely forget. Ironic, I know. But to answer the question as best I can, I believe a certain level of empathy is needed in assessing any situation. With out understanding the sorts fo people that come aronud here, or the sorts of activities that go on around here, one would only be able to go off of past experiences. So I think practical experience is the only way a person could distinguish a threat in any given situation."

It had been a bit wordy, he knew, but thankfully it had helped him to brush over the fact that wasn't very experienced with the current culture.

Jessi smiled and wrote down Daniel's answer. She tried to keep a straight face, but she had really liked his answer.

"Good. Okay, Daniel, how do you feel about not detaining people and responding & reporting instead? In fact, how do you feel about detaining people if it is required, if there is an immediate threat?"

Daniel almost answered right away, but stopped himself. He felt very strongly about the issue apparently, though he only had a little inclination as to why. On the other hand though, what little insight he did have into his past on that respect, made him more comfortable with his answer.

"I believe that I would be willing to assist or aid someone, in whatever capacity may be required. But of course, as your employee, or rather of Aqua Springs, I would naturally proceed as your instructions dictated."

Jessi tilted her head to the side slightly. "What if no one was here and you were required to act immediately?"

Daniel was momentarily surprised, though only indicated by one of his eyebrows raising slightly. He wasn't entirely certain what he would do, though several instances came to mind of him acting without time to plan out, or responding to sudden flows in a situation. But none of them seemed to fit any possible event that would occur around a resort setting such as this. So he went with his gut, which was also his answer.

"Well, I would hope that there was some planning ahead, as much as can be done at any rate, for large situations. Though I would imagine I would have to go with my instinct. Even though I've only been doing so for a few months, it hasn't led me astray yet."

Jessi smiled gently. "And what would your instinct tell you if, let's say, someone was breaking into the lockers in the ladies room?"

*with her sensitive hearing, Kits heard parts of the conversations the employees she passed were having, not that it made much sense to her. She found Mitri sitting near the fireplace in the lodge, finishing a mug of hot cocoa* Hey, you ready to go check out the outside?

*kits and Mitri head out to the trolley to ride around the property. Kits wasn't dressed for playing outside, so she was going to stay on the trolley until it got back to the main building, but Mitri was considering a little bit of sledding*

Daniel began to look a little quizzical at the specificity of the questions. He couldn't help but notice a trend they were taking.

"Well, when you say 'breaking into', that implies that the person isn't meant to have access to said lockers. So, depending on whatever the standing rules are, I suppose that's how I would proceed. If you're asking what my personal reaction would be to do, I would politely escort them out, assuming they hadn't acquired anything that wasn't theirs. If they had, I would remove it from them, then escort them out."

Daniel paused for a moment, to consider the question he had, and whether he was in a position to be inquiring yet. He deciding that he was.

"Jessi, if you don't mind my saying, your questions seem to be implying that this is an event that has happened before. And probably more than once, judging by how you narrowed into the subject. Is there a problem here?"  

[Cuwen]

Jessi looked down at her notebook for a few moments and then sighed. "Daniel, I wish I could be as open as you were with me, but it isn't my place. We're trying to keep certain things under wraps so that patrons will not feel uncomfortable."

She looked back up at Daneil. "If you are hired, I am certain you will made privy to the situation. Amy and Kits might even tell you in your final interview. It's just not my place to tell you, though. I am sorry."

She gave him a slightly-strained smile. "Well, on with the questions. Not many left. Daniel, how would you react if you caught a friend, family member or someone in a higher position doing something wrong? What would your course of action be?"  

[Cuwen]

There were two staff members salting the sidewalks as Mitri and Kits passed. They were talking much as most of the other staff members were talking today. The girl was whispering loudly to her male coworker, shock evident in her voice.

"She's pregnant?! How will that affect business, do you know? I mean, she built this place. Will she have to quit working for months until she has the baby? Oh, do you think she'll bring it over here for us to hold?!"

The girl got a dreamy look on her face while the guy rolled his eyes.

Daniel nodded at Jessi's response. She hadn't answered him, but neither had he shot himself in the foot. Giving the rod in his jacket a slight adjustment, under cover of thinking of a next asnwer, Daniel then proceeded.

"Well, anyone doing something wrong, in this case against the rules of Aqua Springs, must be confronted. The how of confrontation would be dictated byt he who, and the what. A higher up is fairly easy, as in any event, the only recourse is to report to the next higher up, and let them handle it. A friend? Well, depending on bad it was, my reactions would vary. Did they try to sneak a towel out? Smack 'em on the back of the head, and give them a talking to. And take the towel back. Break into an area off limits to patrons? And I'd be forced to hand them over to whatever authorities that Aqua Srprings deals with."

*as they get on the trolley, Kits overhears the staff members talking. Pregnant? Built this place? Not me, it's been a long time since I even... AMY! *mentally yells at herself* I just talked to her the other night. Why didn't she tell me? Why didn't Karrie? Starts to mutter to herself about being such close friends*

*looks at Kits* Kits, are you all right? confused *reaches down to give her a hand up, not that she needs it*

sweatdrop I'm fine, Mitri. Don't worry about it. *grins at him and hops up*

Jessi couldn't stop a giggle from escaping her lips at Daniel's response about the towel. He had a sense of humor that was very good. With that adding the last boost, she put a star at the corner of the piece of paper she had been writing on, indicating that this applicant met her approval and would go on to meet with Amy and Kits.

She looked up at Daniel and held out her hand. "Wonderful interview, Daniel. Will you be available the rest of this week for a follow up interview with the owners of Aqua Springs?"
