He watched her move back to the dock and his emerald eyes were slightly confused but when she mentioned a movie, he really did light up.
"Ya!! Do we even still have the movies out here? Or power?"

He said and made his way to the shore. Looking up at the clouds, he frowned. It ALWAYS rained at least once when they camped out here. He then cursed the wind that was starting up. It was cold!

Daryn saw Princess slide on the floor and chuckled.
"Hey watch it! You don't wanna be injured for camping!"
He called and flicked on the lights, glad that there was actually power. The clouds rolled in quickly as Daryn began whipping up hot chocolate, adding whipped cream and even managed to find a little chocolate drizzle.

After a few minutes he heard thunder.
"Nuts.."
He muttered and set the hot mugs down. Walking to his room he changed from his swim trunks to jeans. But just as he was about to look for his shirt, a loud flash of lightning followed quickly by thunder knocked out the power. Daryn cursed he felt around the room and tried to find his duffel bag.

"Hey Gabriella? You're ok right?"
He called but stubbed his toe, causing him to swear profusely.

Melody protested loudly before she darted away, she was still a bit damp from her accidental swim.

Daryn heard Melody then felt Princess bonk into him.
"Ya I'm ok. Hey! Oh, how did I get out in the hall?"
He wondered out loud. He was still shirtless but figured it probably wasn't a big deal anyway.
"Anyway, I made us some hot chocolate. You go get yours and warm up some more and I'll try and find where dad stashed the flashlights and candles and s**t."
He said and carefully traded places with her. He then felt his way down the hall to the storage cupboard.

Daryn grinned and retorted.
"Isn't a Princess supposed to have pity on her subjects?"

He laughed and bumped into the storage.
"Here. Now let's see.."
He dug around until he felt a flashlight and then clicked it on. Shifting things around, he managed to find some extra candles and another flashlight.
"That's better!"

Daryn then made his way back to the kitchen where he saw Melody glowering at them and he chuckled.
"What's got your fur in a ruffle?"
Picking up the kitten, he then handed the second flashlight to Gabe.

"Here. Now you won't run into a wall and wreck your pretty face."
He smirked. Melody just sat in the crook of his arm and after deciding they could be forgiven for stepping on her, she closed her eyes and purred.
"And she's still wet. Maybe I should towel her off."
He wondered aloud as he frowned down at the kitten.

He chuckled as he took the towel and dropped it onto the kitten's back. She shook her head and then licked Gabe's hand as Daryn toweled her off.

"I could go out to the shed and flip the breaker. Maybe we can get the power back." He said as he set Melody on the floor wrapped in the towel. She curled up in it and relaxed.
"Wanna come with me?"
He called over his shoulder as he started heading for the door. He wound up stubbing his toe again and this time there was a loud crack that even the cat twitched her ears at.
"#$%^$%#!!!! &^%%!! $#$%#%#!!!!!"
Daryn swore loudly as he hobbled quickly back into the kitchen and sat on the chair, holding his foot up which now most likely had two broken toes.

He grumbled at the pain the ice caused but he decided that would be a better idea.
"I guess. Though do you think it's safe for me to walk into the living room? I might crash into something."
He chuckled while she attended to his very sore foot and even placed his arm across the top of her hair like an arm rest.

Melody wiggled out of the towel and sauntered over to the two humans. She looked up at Daryn and mewed in a lame tone, as if to call him an idiot. She then sat and played with the end of Gabe's hair.

Daryn carefully stood and carefully made his way into the living room. He plopped onto the big couch and set the ice on his foot.
"Guess I'll have to bind it later, oh well."
He looked over at Gabe when she entered with Melody.
"So what did you want to talk about?"
He asked curiously.

Melody purred when Gabe pet her and she curled up in her arms.

Daryn raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I took a couple of years off, seeing as I hated school but afterwards I applied to college and got accepted for the music studies program. I wrote a few piano pieces and made a few CD's. They aren't too well known but I made a little money off them."
He looked a bit modest at that point and scratched the back of his neck.

"When I was out of school I got Melody's mom and I had her for about.... five or six years before we actually got Melody's litter. Unfortunately she got sick and we had to put her down and gave all but Melody away. That was fairly recent considering her age."
He pointed at the kitten and sighed. He missed his other cat but he continued.

"With some of the courses in school I had to travel a bit to do concerts. I did date a few girls but nothing serious. The longest being about eight months."
He told her and then smirked.
"Now my new boyfriend, well he's just somethin else."
He pretended to sigh and batted his eyes before laughing at her reaction.
