My mission: My heart or my job?

"I could probably wait, but if you don't have any suggestions for how to spend our time then I can go ahead and begin getting ready. You know the old saying 'Rome wasn't built in a day'. Beauty takes time." Rena explained. "For missions like these, I have to do my best to be unrecognizable. It's much easier to slip past their defenses and securities when they don't know who I am. It should run smoothly...at least I hope it does."
She trailed off slightly losing herself in her thoughts for a moment.

After a few hours, she was finally ready. She glanced at herself in the mirror just to make sure. Her hair was in a knot in the middle of her head and cascaded down in curls. Her dress was a royal blue. She topped it off with elbow length gloves, diamond stud earrings, and changed her wristband into a small silver band on her wrist. She grabbed her purse and sighed before knocking on the door in between the rooms.
"Haru are you ready?" She called

"I'm out here,"Haru called back to her from the front room. Haru didn't have to do much to look good. He wore a nice, ordinary black tux that he had worn to these events before. He had takin out his earrings and his hair wasn't everywhere like it usually was. A black tie and his wristband(that had turned into a nice silver watch) were his accessories for the night.
He pulled out the tickets, looking over them once more as he waited for Miss Asho to enter the living room. It took him a second to glance back up to meet the beautiful site that was Rena. If this were an anime his jaw would've dropped open at this moment, but instead his mouth only opened slightly as he tried to gather his thoughts.
Resisting the urge to scratch the back of his head like he usually did when he was embarrased, he finally said. "You look great, Miss Asho."

She gave him a small smile.
"Thank you." She said and did a small twirl. "I haven't worn anything like this in a long time, so i was a bit nervous."
She smoothed her skirt and took a deep breath. She put her purse under her arms as she straighten his tie a little.
"You look quite handsome yourself." She complemented, smoothing the front of his jacket.
She suddenly seemed to realize what she was doing.
"Ah! Sorry! It's a force of habit."

He felt silly when he stiffened up when she had started straightening up his tie. He laughed a little when she seemed to snap out of her state of grooming him.
"It's alright," he said, offering his arm. "Shall we go?"

She smiled as she took his arm.
"Lead the way, Mr. Strife."
This actually was more of a natural thing for her. While she still had a job to complete, she had always been more relaxed at these dances. She let a sad smile form on her lips as she remembered the last time she had attended a ball.
"You still have the tickets right? It should just be a simple escort situation." She said softly.

"Take a look," he said, handing them over to her. He stifled a giggle from escaping his lips waiting for her reaction to the tickets. He loved the way she reacted to things. She was cute when she was angry in a strange way.

She glanced at them before snatching them out of his hands for a closer look. She stopped dead in her tracks. For a long time she was silent, reading them over multiple times.
"W-What?" She barely croaked out. "y-you can't be serious!"
She glared accusingly at him.
"You knew." She stated. "You knew but didn't think it wise to tell me?!"

Haru just chuckled putting his hands up defensivlly.
"I didn't know it was a big deal," he lied, laughing all the way. "Okay, I did. I couldn't resist seeing your reaction to this."
He stopped laughing before bowing to her. "I aplogize for working you up before this event," he said sincerly before meeting her gaze. "But you're just so damned cute when you're mad." He chuckled once more before offering his arm to her again.
"I'll be good for the rest of the night, Promise!"

She felt her cheeks flush.
"But...this type of thing takes preparation! It was one thing to act like a couple with Alex...we were siblings. It was just a matter of showing more affection. This....well I..." She paused a moment trying to find her voice. "I've never done the whole relationship thing so I don't know how to act."
She flushed more as she rushed through the last part. She crossed her arms over her chest and looked away.
((Back in half an hour or less, running a quick errand))

"It's about the same," Haru said, gently cupping her face with his hands to make her look at him. "Just follow my lead and just do what comes naturally to you, okay?"
He chuckled softly, letting her go. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about you're an agent. A damn good one at that. There isn't much time for relationships in this business,"he comforted.

"What comes naturally is for me to smack you." She said bluntly. "And i wasn't always an agent."
She took a few deep breaths to calm herself.
"But...maybe...since I'm not suppose to be myself....I might just be able to do this."

"There you go," Haru chuckled. "Just don't think about it to much."
He gave her a moment to calm herself before saying,"Our ride is waiting."
He smiled at her. "Are you ready, Miss Asho?"

Rena closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. She released it slowly as she opened them. Something, though it was slight, changed. She wasn't completely within herself anymore. She had changed. It was time for a different "character", one to blend in and become one of many. This was her mission outlook.
"Of course." She said smiling sweetly.
The smile never reached her eyes, but it was still convincing.
