Watership Down.

A U-rated British animation about rabbits.
This film scared the s**t out of me.
It could replace Bambi as the Great Kid Traumatiser.
The seagull Keharr swears at Fiver. "Piss OFF!!!"
There is so much blood, and death, and gore, sometimes the whole screen's red.
The song "Bright Eyes" makes me cry.

It's the British rating system.
U = Universal; suitable for all.
PG = Parental Guidance
12 = Over 12's only or accompanied with an adult
15 = Over 15's only
18 = Over 18's only

I saw "The English Patient" for the first time today, I was very moved. I'm still not sure how to react to it all though.

I just felt sad, really.

Haven't seen the film, though the book's great. I'm sure Ralph Fiennes did a great job (if I remember him even being in it...? confused )

Shaun of the Dead was freaking hilarious. I love it. I haven't seen many British films, though. The director of Resident Evil was British; one of my favorite films. heart I also loved how practically every big role in the new Batman movie was a Brit playing an American. Priceless. rolleyes Not that I don't adore Michael Caine, Christian Bale, and Gary Oldman. They are awesome.

Indeed, it also had another strong performance in the form of Naveen Andrews as Kip, whose motorcycle I envy.

Me too. Its so sad.
And the evil rabbits were so scarey. Typing it out makes it sound really funny but they really were terrifying. It was much more scarey than Jurassic park which is the only other scarey film I can remember from that age.

Would 'Full Metal Jacket' come under A british film because that was filmed at Pinewood studios.

Plus also you can tell it was filmed in England because when the troops are jogging on the road, the road has English roadmarkings.

I wonder if the His Dark Materials film would count, it's a British story if not the film itself. >_>

As an agnostic I reject the theological overtones of Narnia and I think it ought to at least carry a warning so that impressionable children are not lead astray from the path of rationalism.

Disgruntled of Catford

(Though, I think they [Narnia] are great books; shame more cannot see the irony in accusing HDM of "brainwashing" children)

heart

The shame is that people don't realise that children can tell the difference between fact and fiction and are, in fact, less impressionable than they look.
