jdUb4 KchulaRrit Ok, took my ALOT longer to get a camera than I thought it would. But here goes. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0144.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0147.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0146.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0145.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0143.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0142.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0141.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0140.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0167.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0166.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0165.jpg Tell me, honestly, what you think. This is my first conversion and I wanna know what I did right and what I did horribly wrong. mrgreen And... some of my other minis. In case you wanna tell me how terrible my painting jobs are. Personally, I'd rate myself as a B-. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0181.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0179.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0177.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0176.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0171.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y37/KchulaRrit/IMG_0170.jpg actually there quite good! the conversion i thought was excellent...but it looks like u put a bit too much paint....it changed the texture of the arm quite a bit *smiles wide* hehe!
What did you think of the Base being the Slaanesh symbol? Isn't that AWESOME? I mean... if I do say so myself. mrgreen
Thats not actually a Space Marine arm, it's offa Goreshade. Doesn't have the same texture to begin with.

Hey everyone! I'm the newbee of this guild, and I would like to ask you guys for some advice. sweatdrop
I'm participating in a "Emperor's Champion Painting Contest" in my local GW. I thought I was allmost done, but I got stuck with the following problem: I want to paint the sword, so that it looks like it's glowing hot at the edges.
So at the bottom it's black, going scab red, red gore, blood red, blazing orange, sunburst yellow, and finally white. Sounds easy! However, after I was done, it didn't look very realistic.. I watered the paint down and added some thin layers to cover it, but it didn't help. Finally I decited to paint it black again start all over.
Does anyone have experience with blending colours? If so, do you have some hints for me? smile Or do you have some hints to make my little crusader look cooler?
Here are two thumbnails. sorry for the bad quality.. stressed

Don't do the shading up the blade. Do it so that it's black, deep red, orance, yellow from the....spine of it, towards the sharp sides.
On another note, for the actual model itself, I suggest you add some shading with Fortress/Codex/50Chaos Black-50 Skull White Grey so that you can highlight the rims and raised parts of the armour. 3nodding

Ophiuchus Reddemon I'll try to get some pics tomorrow kul. Has anyone ever had the problem with painting the bands on a SM/CSM's shoulder pad or other form of detail? Well I have your anwser. One word....Matchstick. Yes ladies and gents you too can find painting easy with a simple match stick. Simply sharpen one end until its pointy. Then dip into the desired paint and begin. It can even be used to do eye/visor jobs and other small jobs. I just use a fine detail brush. What? you too cackhanded to use a brush? It's FINE for a reason. How can you screw THAT up? neutral I use a fine detail brush for absolutely EVERYTHING on basic infantry. Undercoat, prime, color, highlight, drybrush, detail... Do it enough, you gain skill with that tiny brush.
I myself use black primer, then a lot of very light drybrushes og white, to build natural underhighlights. Then I drybrush on my colours as per desired area. Then I ink up and shading and rotting flesh any highlights.
And why waste a match stick when a coctail stick is fine? I used to use a cocktail stick, because my brushes had a problem with the odd bristle ruining a whole paint job.
Granted, some of the stuff I've seen makes those look like masterpieces, but I still dislike having tainted models in that sense.
