must be approaching Goddess status since I was 'gifted' with one live snake (in two pieces), one live morning dove (without tail feathers, dropped at my feet), and two grasshoppers (having the approximate body mass of Hulk Hogan) all within a two hour span. Man! Am I lucky or what???

@ Tess A Tigre LOL wow. Your kitteh must not have anything else to do with its time! Or maybe it's the equivalent of a homicidal maniac? Or maybe s/he just really REALLY loves you? Mine wouldn't be allowed outside again after a killing spree like that! I have to ask about something you said: "live snake (in two pieces)." ...?
@ Lil-Jo Hahahaha, that's great.

My cat, Kyo, is not allowed to go outside. He's only tried to get out two times since we adopted him 3 years ago. I heard that the average lifespan of an indoor cat is 12-15 years, and only 3-5 years for an outdoor cat.

Good Morning! As for snake in two pieces, just a portion of the tail was detached (about 4") but the rest was still good to go. Found the poor thing woven into a mesh trash basket, trapped by its own wiles. I removed it and released it back outside. The dove wasn't so lucky. As for grasshoppers, they are a dime a dozen around here right now and can be very destructive so those don't get released. I am hoping that winter will slow his cravings to hunt down. Mouf was feral prior to being befriended by my other cat. He is about 3 and is still adjusting to the fact he doesn't have to pay rent. Having all the food he wants to eat is new to him as well. He has gained several pounds which he needed. If this is the worst that happens in my life I am a very very lucky person!
ps - Eddie (my orange tabby) is my n** whore. He can hear the top pop at 50 yards and come running

my cat is all indoor, and i work alot. she gets bored. she used to have a habit of playing soccer w/ her own poo. the purchase of a litter box w/ a door remedied that, thankfully. i swear, she knew it bothered me, too. she's great, though... don't know what i'd do without her. little mattie at 6 months. not so little mattie almost a year later. she can stretch out and she can almost reach from my foot to my hip, back paw to front paw. and she still thinks she's a kitten stare

ps - Eddie (my orange tabby) is my n** whore. He can hear the top pop at 50 yards and come running Aaaw, poor snake! I guess that's a defense mechanism (or is that only with lizards 'n such), but it always weirds me out. I guess having a formerly-feral cat would make things interesting, to say the least! That was nice of you to adopt him!
When I finally got a place of my own, I had to get a Himalayan (my parents have a Himmie and a Persian, and they just have such awesome personality), which I did (Toulouse, my hairy beast). I got Mucha through the Cat Angel network. He was about 4 months old when I got him. I don't know if he was ever a stray, but the Network has foster homes for all their cats until they find homes, so at least he was VERY used to domestic life when I got him. He's naturally kind of annoying (in a cute, I've-gotta-be-as-close-to-you-as-possible-all-the-time kind of way), so I can't imagine what he would be like if he'd been raised outdoors!
@Dokk Mattie's beautiful! Is that a big fluffy tail I see? I don't know if it would do anything for you (or if it's a possibility -- or maybe she's already got one), but I got mine a bird feeder to watch. I was shocked at the difference it made! I also leave the radio on for them during the day, which also makes a big difference.

He's just long in general (long face, long body, long tail). He's only about a year old, so he'll probably fill out a little bit more at least. He should, anyway, considering that he eats like a horse. They're all a bit silly looking really... Especially if you stare at them long enough! They're all so cute though, and such weird little animals! heart *future crazy cat lady*

I heard that the average lifespan of an indoor cat is 12-15 years, and only 3-5 years for an outdoor cat. No one told Midnight this... he is my daughter's cat, we have had him for 12½ years, the shelter guessed him at 3+ yrs old when we got him. We know he is at least 15, he is over weight, he is an indoor/outdoor cat...
