While Tristan was determined to hit Devonte, Mira really wanted to hit Caty. Not because she was the best on the team but because the girl hadn't been hit yet. She already knew that she was one of the best beaters there and her and Tristan were the only two beaters. However she kept telling herself that Camila was the better target. Taking a breath she decided to go for Caty against her better judgement. Going for a swing Mira went to aim it right for the first year.

Bursting down the field,Camila harried her broom and angled herself until she was level with Devonte before snatching forward to reach for the quaffle.
With a sigh of relief, Camila had nicked the quaffle back into her possession and returned to midfield before she rocketed down the field towards the goal posts; Benji must be so bored up there by now.

The bludger ripped across the field, hurtling towards his chaser and as he leaned closer to his broom and urged it faster, he wasn't sure if he'd make it. At just the last second, Tristan swung his bat hoping to defend Caty and redirect the bludger to his sister, Savannah, who has yet to feel the agonizing pain of a bludger. It was like an initiation for newbies after all.
Kyson hadn't been doing much during tryouts. He had mostly been flying back and forth, trying to keep up. Where was his head today? Giving it a good shake, he tried his best to focus on the task at hand. Flying up underneath his Captain, he went in for a steal.

Devonte frowned as he lost the ball at the last second. He was about an inch to the goals, and if he had thrown a second earlier, then maybe he could have gotten some points. Oh well. He burst forth towards Camila, looking to grab the quaffle again.

Seeing that she finally hit Caty, Mira was happy but she should have been dealing with Camila. Like she expected the captain was on a roll and no one could get the ball from her. Taking aim she decided to give Camila a bludger to play with.

Well, that didn't end well for him. Blaming it on the wind, Kyson went in for another steal attempt. This time, he came up on Camila's left side, instead of from underneath her. Maybe he could at least get close this time.

Thwack! The bludger crashed right into her--she never even heard it coming. The quaffle almost fell right out of her grip and it took her a hard minute to catch a second wind and throttle forward into the game. It was the long shadows of the goal posts and the stands that caught her attention, and then a quick glance at her wristwatch before she realized how late it was. Camila called a quick time out and ushered the players down onto the grassy field beside her. After returning the quaffle to the chest and deciding to leave the bludgers and snitch (if the beaters and seeker couldn't retrieve it) for after her announcement. "Thank you everyone for trying out! Despite a few hiccups, you all did brilliantly. The results of the tryouts will be posted in the slytherin bulletin board shortly, so keep an eye out for that. Until then, you all must be exhausted, get outta here," she waved them away, but not before eyeing Benjamin with an 'I hope you're ready for more work' look.

Vander was trying not to let the power go to head. ...Fine, so he wasn't really trying, but as of right now it was hardly his fault he had to be the one to start tryouts, now was it? He somewhat obsessively reordered the blank forms in his hands, and leaning against the battered little table on the side of the pitch, waited for people to show. Quidditch was fairly popular among Slytherins, and seeing as the team had a reputation for winning, he didn't doubt there'd be a larger turnout than say... Ravenclaw. Not that he expected to see many excited faces at seeing him seemingly in charge for the moment, but Ryans was hardly Mr. Popularity himself. At least Vander kept to himself, and didn't go around trying to get pictures of people half naked.

Leon walked onto the pitch, his eyes narrowed as he dared anyone to make some smartarse comment. Anyone. He was liable to deck someone if they did. Besides, he actually wanted to try out. He wasn't here to hear that he was such a team player for trying out. He didn't care about that. He just wanted something to do. Besides, he'd had his cigarettes taken away from him again before going to school, and he'd been more than agitated ever since. Oh, he knew what withdrawals were. He was experiencing them right now, and he absolutely hated them. Which, he figured if he could take out his frustration and need to do something on another activity, that would be much, much better in his mind. At least until he could manage to get more. He grabbed a sheet from the p***k vice captain and went to fill it out. Afterward, he just handed it back and stood off to the side. He figured if nothing else, they'd tell him what to do. He already had borrowed a school broom. The bat he figured that he'd get later during games and such. Which was too bad. He could certainly think of people that could use a bat to the side of the head.

ﻬஐ Caty practically skipped out onto the quidditch pitch in one of her semi-regular expressively high happy moods. The world seemed brighter, shinier for once and she wasn't going to look a gift hippogryff in the mouth, especially since it happened on tryout day! The sun was shining, the sky was so pretty and blue, and Leon was....LEON WAS OUTSIDE?!!? Not able to stop herself, she ran the few feet towards him and hugged him from behind knowing it was better to catch him off guard. "Leon! I didn't know you were going to tryout too! This is going to be so fun! We'll have practices and games and s-oh! Right! Gotta go fill out my stuff!" She grinned sheepishly as she remembered that she should fill out the application and went over to the vice captain to grab the paper.
