Welcome to the family. I'm German and Dutch, with Irish (I believe) on my mother's side. And if you are Saxon, then you are German. Saxony is part of Germany.

Well many Dutch people are descendants of the Saxons, it kind of umbrellas or so I've been told. I'm not really an expert on the field.
All this comes from my Grams, though I doubt she's an expert either.

Because he ignored orders to kill those that the Nazi High Command deemed "undesirable". None of his Afrikacorps were charged for war crimes because of him.

I've read he was a decent guy, he was just on the wrong side. He was like General Lee. He was a good guy, but stuck by his country right or wrong.
He was forced to commit suicide because he knew of or had a hand in Project Valkyrie. Or whatever it was called.
