James looked at him a bit sceptical and handed him his wand back. "Ok let's go back to the common room then."

Peter continued apologizing all the way through the halls, into the common room, and up to the dorms, desperate for James to forgive him and trust him again.

"I-I a-a-attacked J-James," Peter stammered, hanging back away from Remus and Sirius.
Sirius looked alarmed. "You did what? What happened." He repeated Remus's question with emphasis.

"I was coming back from walking Lily to her common room and he just steps out of the shadows and points his wand at me. After i used levicorpus on him he came to his sences."

Sirius's eyebrows met his hairline. "Was he acting of his own will or was he imperiused," he asked, ignoring Peter's stuttering.

"I don't know. He was acting completely different when he threatened me. So I thought he might have been under the imperius curse."

"But who would imperius Peter and how? I mean, this is Hogwarts. There're so many protection spells around this place, whoever tried to imperius Peter would be a three horned, cross eyed, inside out goat by the time he got in here."

"Then I would guess Malfoy or Snivellus."
"No not Severus. I think if he was going to use someone to attack one of us he'd probablt do it himself or use me and he'd probably go after Sirius."

"And Malfoy wouldn't attack James, or any of us for that matter. He'd have the imperiused person try and kidnap Remus or something like that. Which leaves the other option of Peter acting on his own accord."

Sirius sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Maybe you're right, James. Personally, I'm not so sure, but... If you're willing to forgive him..." He shrugged and dropped his hand.

James shrugged too. "i guess we'll just keep an eye on Peter and make sure he doesn't try to attack any of se again."
Remus wanted the room to lighten up. "So you said you walked Lily back to her dorm. How did that go?"
"Oh that?" James smirked and sat down on his bed. "Sorry Remus I don't kiss and tell."
