In fact, everyone in my research group has a Mac [MBP is the weapon of choice]. Sadly, X11 is broken on the 10.5.0 release, which causes issues for me. crying

Well apart from one guy who arses about with cygwin, but I'm going to blame that on being Turkish. XD ninja

Looking backwards from sitting at the front in lectures is always amusing, seeing what proportion of laptops have the sleek halo of Mac gleam...

It's about half-and-half with law students, (just as it's about half-and-half with law students who look like the law-student stereotype versus those who don't...people continue to ask me what it's like studying English ^^) between Macs and everything else - although the Vaio is there with Mac machines on the style scale, I think...

Anyhow... I'm mainly posting because I've just run into the new Gaia redirection screen and it BURNT OUT MY RETINAS.

I suppose it's a good thing. If that doesn't do the job against people getting scammed on fake sites, then -nothing- will... ¬_¬

It made me laugh. But I do like how the entire redirect warning can be turned off, the header annoyed me muchly.

I can't figure out what the difference between "doing a Journalism degree" and "being a freelance reporter" is -- except maybe that you have to pay to do the former, and get paid for doing the latter (theoretically).

Well, the messages I got throughout the article from him were, variously, that the slave trade wasn't so bad after all, global warming probably isn't such a big deal, mourning the dead is for wusses, and that British colonialism was unequivocally a good thing with no negative effects whatsoever.
