Polaris looked out to sea. "No..I read people and everything around them very well. The sea reacts differently, and the people react differently. I sensed uneasiness around you..you were afraid of being rejected." His eyes glowed. "But..we won't judge you..frankly I'd prefer if people were just honest about themselves instead of me trying to decode them."

Nefreous smiled as he had been unnoticed so far, eaves dropping on them, well eh thought that he had anyhow.
"Why are you listening to them talk? Are you worried? Worried that they will see bloodshead like your last crew?" The god laughed as he spoke, the Captan swating at the annoying Loki.

Polaris smirked releasing they were being spied on but didn't react. "This will be tough..especially since our captain won't tell us exactly what we are trying to do." he sighed. "I..am not a dishonorable man..I would like it if he trust us enough to tell us exactly what we are getting into as opossed to me heaven to get it out of Loki." he laughed. "Who apparently is quite bad at keeping secrets..I wonder why the captain had such a hard time. Well, he doesn't understand that you get more flies with honey then vinager." his voice and face suddenly went back to being cold and serious. "After all..one must keep face..even if one doesn't really care. The sea's face may change..but it is always impartial."

((I apologize for taking so long to make my initial post, but I was catching up on the storyline so far, and i'm very impressed with the wide range of characters here. ^^ ))
Liam cracked his neck, slowly rotating it just to feel the pressure to amount until he felt the bones slightly shift from the cracking. Exhaling slowly, he rubbed his eyes--he had been sitting on the beach for nearly two days, sipping off of the small water supply and food he had lifted a few days prior. What was it that man told him? Something about some ship heading this way? Shaking his head, he ran a hand through his hair, his gaze once more moving out to the ocean and it's dark depths. There was hardly any ships that the island didn't know about, mostly tourists of sorts who came from time to time to visit the fine wineries as well as the well-tuned courtesans here. A small smile played about his face at the thought of himself being a full-fledged courtesan--hah, as if he had the time or ability to. Liam was too devoted to himself, to adventure and revenge to take part in activities as those, but had been tempted a few times when he knew he had a long and another lonely night before him. His interest in this unknown ship forced him to remain on this abandoned beach, not wanting to leave only to miss their supposed arrival. Maybe it was all just rumors, gossip wisping around like fog which provoked his curiousity.

Nefreous looked over twords the small island then back to his crew. He could feel it, his brother and his mortal enemy was just under them and heading for the small beach. "All of you, take over this ship, keep it out of the way!" He called as he lept off the boat, his body bursting into flames as he called out in pain, yet the shreek turned to the song like call of the fire bird.
Under the waves was the long body of a blue in color serpent, a serpent like dragon that turned to glance at the large fire bird as the red, blue, yellow and white flame wings graced the sky.
Nefreous screached at the man on the beach as the dragon coiled back to strike at the man. Before the large beast could bring harm to the man the fire bird was in front of it's jaws scorching and burning the scales and cooking flesh.

Polaris looked out seeing the serpant. He saw the battle and watched now torn. He was supposed to defend the creatures of the deep. He quickly ran and caught the wheel of the boat guiding it expertly away from the fight. "Careful captain!" he called out. Still it was a magnificent sight.

Liam sat there, immobile. Maybe it was the shock preventing him to breathe, or maybe adrenaline rushing so coarsely through his body that he was unable to react. Finally allowing himself to breathe, he closed his eyes, feeling his hands shake. Exhaling gently, Liam began to control himself--opening his eyes and soon getting to his feet steadily. Watching the firebird soar through the sky entraced him slightly, expresslessly watching the burning corpse of the serpent.

Nefreous landed on the beach as the flames died out and the mear man that stood there fell to his knees, his eyes closing as he watched the dragon like thing vanish into the darker water. "That fool..." He hissed as he fought to his feet and looked over to the man. "Are you alright?" He asked as he stood.

Polaris sighed. "Captain are you ok?" His eyes glowed blue as the boat seemed to suddenly stop in the water. He quickyly jumped off the boat and literaly got swept up by a wave. He seemed to stand on the water as it brought him to shore. "You ok? Why was the great sea serpant attacking?'

When the monster had risen from the water Abrecan had drawn his sword and prepared to attack with Polaris. But as he made to follow after the icemage a sharp pain flowed through his body causing him to fall to one knee. Swearing he'd tried to get up and go to the aid of his captain, but to no avail. A stabbing pain erupted in his back and he hissed. When the two returned to the ship he would be nowhere in sight.

"The port is about three more miles from here.." he answered, looking to the man which had transformed from the firebird's form. Running a hand through his hair, he looked to the other man that had accompanied the firebird, and knew that it didn't take an idiot to figure out that this crew was completely different from what he was used to on the island. Licking his dry lips, he wrapped his arms around himself loosely, looking over to the direction of the port. "Be careful of the natives around here, they're usually trying to seduce all foreigners to get drunk and sleep with their courtesans.." he shook his head, "You won't be able to pick them out, they blend in so well with the rest of the residents here." he warned them. "If you're on a time limit, make sure to be direct in what you need and get out before your time is taken..somewhere..less productive in your journey." His dark eyes flickered over to the ship, impressed by it's size and shape.

Polaris held out his hand as the water seemed to guide the ship moving it on its own to the dock where it would wait for them. "Thank you..and I will remeber that..though it won't work..I have little interest in drinking or carnal desires."

Nefreous turned to look over at the man that had come to his aid so quickly. "Thank you." He added softly as he stood and brushed the sand from himself. "As well as you sir, but I don't think that we need such a warning...after all my crew can handle themselves. " He added as he seemed weak from the transformation. "I just need some rest..."
