[PRP] A Christmas Horror Story (Chel/Shun)

[Blade Kuroda]

"No," he replied flatly.  

[chiickadee]

"Then what?"  

[Blade Kuroda]

"Do not worr about it."  

[chiickadee]

"Shun," she said like a sigh, reaching up to put a hand through his hair. "I got a thick skull. You gotta say things plain. I'm workin' on it but I can't figure you out none f'you don't tell me what I do wrong."  

[Blade Kuroda]

"No."

She might have had a thick skull, but he was being stubborn about this particular thing.  

[chiickadee]

She smiled. Chel liked a challenge.

"Ticklish?" She didn't remember him being so the countless times she'd touched, but she looked down regardless. "Or ... pregnant, I bet s'pregnant." That was a joke, at least she damn well hoped so. With magic and all ...

Shun just gave her a hard stare.  

[chiickadee]

"Alright, alright," Chel relented. She didn't remove the hand from his hair with its repetitive motions and settled back into his shoulder.

"How 'bout ... you don't like hugs? Remind you of somethin' bad maybe?"  

[Blade Kuroda]

Shun was slowly relaxing once more after that little ordeal. Closing his eyes, he grunted out, "What. Hugs? Just leaves me too exposed."  

[chiickadee]

"Mm." She would have made a joke about having a hidden dagger for his back but ... this was also the guy who was convinced she would poison his food still.

"Which kind we talkin'?" she asked, dredging up an old joke instead. "An' m'surprised y'don't got a bulletproof vest from work or somethin'."  

[Blade Kuroda]

"I did have one. Personal one. It got shredded during Blackfriar's. Small town like this, a stab vest is better. But yes, body armor in general, does get issued," he quietly murmured.  

[chiickadee]

"Stab vest? I ain't even know what that is."

But Shun had spoken; Chel was taking notes.  

[Blade Kuroda]

"Vest designed for blades rather than guns, basically. Made differently. Bulletproof vests do not protect against slashing or stabbing weapons too well, and stab vests do not protect against bullets much," he uttered, explaining.  

[chiickadee]

"Why not put 'em both on then?" It seemed smart to Chel. Double the vests, double the protection.

This was obviously how these vests worked.

Shun cracked his eyes open just enough to stare at her.

"Bulky and inefficient."
