The Aftermath
The Academy must prosper...
The battle is the headmaster's treasure room was a fierce one. Adult Moses, no longer old man Moses, gained a new confidence with his younger body, however, the headmaster of the academy was no push over. Adult Moses soon realized that he was losing. Their level of skill were matched at the beginning, but the difference in their Pokemon strength was growing wider with each turn of their battle. The thief boss didn't stood a chance and once it became painfully aware that he would be defeated, he ran away. The headmaster watched the man leave, the students and the teachers would be more than enough to stop him. They were prepared and he believed in the students, after spending so much time around them he knew that several of them were brave and strong individuals. The screams of Moses caught the headmaster off guard and he rushed to the hall where Moses had escaped. Before him stood several men and women wearing ballistic vests, black camouflage colored uniforms, helmets, and they were wearing night-vision goggles. The group turned to the headmaster and pointed their guns at him covering his body with red dots to indicate he had no chance of escaping. A flashlight was shined his way and the leader of the team approached the headmaster. The two started exchanging words.
==========
The students continued their battles with the former academy employees who had revealed themselves as thieves. The thieves' Pokemon were quite strong, but the students were persistent and they were not alone as many of them joined forces and worked together to cover any weaknesses they had. Not all the students participated in the battle, which was fine, but many showed their support and willingness to not go down without a fight. The thieves were beginning to feel overwhelmed and their confidence slowly leave as the determination of the students was becoming harder to handle. Seeing no other option left, the thieves began to run away abandoning the plan; what was the point of risking their freedom? However, the thieves did not make it far and were stopped by a group of men and women heavily equipped with defenses and weapons. There was no escape for the thieves so they surrendered. The students were initially surprised by the appearance of these adults, but each of them quickly noticed the "S.W.A.T" letters written on their uniform. Those who had seen any kind of crime shows or whose families were involved with the police knew about the SWAT and they understood they were there to stop the thieves. Help was indeed coming their way and with the arrival of the SWAT team the students could finally relax; they were safe.
The group of men and women turned to the children who were happy to see them. However, their smiles quickly changed when the adults summoned a variety of Psychic-type Pokemon. There was something off and the adults suddenly weren't looking like the good guys anymore. One of the men started giving orders to the Pokemon and soon enough every psychic pokemon started using Hypnosis on the students and their Pokemon. The kids were unprepared for this attack and they were unable to fight, too tired from their battles against thieves, their Pokemon included. All students and Pokemon started dropping to the ground entering a deep sleep. The men and women brought machines and strange devices which were likely meant to be used on the children. Their work was not done yet, the thieves were apprehended and the students would be taken care of. The teachers and academy employees would be next on their list and with the thieves already having captured them it would make their job a lot easier.
==========
It was now the next day. The students were all save, sleeping in their dorms without a care. Their memories of the previous night were no more, none of them would have any recollection of the events that transpired. This included the teachers and academy employees as well. Any injuries was there obtained from the attack were quickly patched and healed. Only two students were wounded more than the others and were actually resting in the nurse's office: Marco and Ray. They would be told that they got into an accident in the Forest and that would hopefully be enough to convince them; even if it wasn't a believable explanation, their memories would betray them and they would have no choice, but to believe that story. Any location that was damaged from the battles would be closed off for the time being due to "renovation" or any other reason. The students only had one more month left before the end of the academy year so it was unlikely any of them would question the change.
The arrival of that fake SWAT team was an unexpected turn of events. The headmaster was not at all happy with what occurred. This was beyond his control, but he knew who the culprits were. In fact, he was staring at them at this very moment in their office. They were not present, per se, but rather he was looking at them on a television screen. The headmaster stared at the three figures who had bright lights shining behind them so their faces were only shadows which was probably intentional in order to hide their identity. However, the headmaster knew these three people well. "Gentlemen...and ma'am...you've overstepped your boundaries." There were three people on the screen, two men and one woman, and they were suited in formal attire. The headmaster was not pleased at all and his face clearly showed the frustration he felt, but the men and woman were unaffected by his stare. Their composure did not falter and instead they remained looking graceful and poised. "You've failed to properly protect this academy and its children. We had no choice, but to step in once we saw what was happening." The reply came from one of the men, his voice had a certain accent and tone that commanded respect. A strong, deep voice that would cause others to shake with every word spoken. However, the headmaster was not so easily intimidated and he remained with a stern look on his face as he heard the reply, "I was handling the situation and the children were demonstrating how much their lesson had taught them. The thieves would have been stopped without your interfering."
"You failed to foresee the consequences of your actions and the affects they would have on the academy and the children," this time it was a feminine voice that spoke. Her tone was light and not strong or deep like the other man's voice. There was a still a particular chill her tone of voice caused; her voice was light as if someone was whispering sweet nothings into your ear. "If the media had found out then there would be no chance for this academy. From the beginning, this first year was a test for the world, to show that this was the safest place for a child to learn about Pokemon. What do you think would have happened if the headlines read, 'Ordell Academy was infiltrated by thieves who threaten the lives of the students'?" The headmaster clenched his hands, he didn't want to admit the truth in her words. The woman saw the headmaster's hesitation and decided to continue, "the academy would be shut down and potentially sued for endangering the children. Even if you did go to court to fight this, the academy's reputation would already be ruined. The parents would not want to have their children return. Do you now understand the severity of your lack of action?" The headmaster took a deep breath and then exhaled, he didn't want to agree with them, but she was right. If word got out of the events from yesterday then the academy would be ruined. "I understand...but I still don't agree with your methods. Using Pokemon to mess with the children's memories, they can only be repressed for so long and who knows what effect that might have on them." the teachers and academy employees had their memories messed with as well. In fact everyone in the academy, except of the headmaster, had their memories repressed in order to forget about the events from the night prior.
"We had no other choice," the last men finally spoke and his voice sounded older and wiser than the others who had spoken. It was not the voice of an old man, but rather the voice of someone who was wise beyond his years. His voice was still deep like the other man's voice, but also more gentle and not as demanding as the other men's voice. His voice did not demand respect, but rather it made you want to willingly listen. "Some of them might have nightmares, but to them there won't anything more than just bad dreams. Their memories will betray them and with time they will choose to ignore it or forget it all together. Let this be a lesson to never allow for an incident -like the one from yesterday- happen again." The headmaster had no choice, but swallow his pride and accept what they were telling him. There was certainly truth in their words and the damage had already been done. He had failed to properly protect the children and his staff which was what was causing his frustration. He didn't want to rely on them, but he had no choice and perhaps they had made the best decision for the academy.
"Antonio Reyes," the headmaster looked back at the men and woman who had called out his name. "This academy must not be closed. Do not let something like this happen again. You have been given this task so do your job. We will be watching." With those final words, the connection ended and the screen went blank leaving Antonio alone in his office. The young man slumped back into his chair feeling exhausted. He had managed to stop Moses, but ultimately it had been the Organization who stepped in and "fixed" everything. He had failed on this day and worse he had given them a reason to step in which was something he wanted to avoid at all costs for the future. Things needed to change in Ordell Academy to prevent its image from being tainted. He hated to admit this, especially since he never cared for the media, but the best way to keep these children safe was to demonstrate that Ordell Academy was what the children of the future needed. Antonio reached into his jacket's chest pocket and took out his wallet. He pulled out a photo from inside and gazed at the person on the photo, Lilith Ezra. "What I wouldn't give to be with you right now," Antonio smiled as another photo that was behind the photo of Lilith slipped from his fingers and landed on the ground; the photo was of a family. Antonio picked up the photo and put them away back into his wallet. "Alright, time to start over."
