It could have been a lot worse, indeed. Though the scar is forming-up nicely it still tends to open at the lowest end if I have to clinch my fish or grip something, I hit someone and it bled.

Still, I'm alive, and so is Kate...just about.

I found some very good scar plasters at Boots that are supposed to specifically help with the healing of deeper cuts. Compede. (Kitchen knife+very hard turnip= grazed thumb bone.)

Good story to start off with in such a short amount of time. Hope you get up and running again though!

Well, we've topped up the brake and power-steering fluid and are in the process of bleeding the brakelines the get the air out. I'm on now because my father has gone to find some smaller spanners, we couldn't find any small enough to loosen the 'bleed nipples'.

Still, I've washed all the nipples, so they're ready for loosening as soon as we've found the right spanners for it.

The thing is, Kate's too scared to go in it anymore, so we'll be selling it for a less improved and thus more easily maintainable one.

Just so long as you bear in mind, that if you don't sell that blasted thing, you wont remain in that blissful state for much longer...XD

Ebay...I kid ye not...Ebay is a dream for cars at the moment. One three series and one five series later, both running just fine and the cost of both (for the cars, random niggly repairs / maintenance and even five new alloy wheels + tyres), still coming in at less than I could have paid out on a second hand Landie which was offered...

Random note, I'll be heading down your way around the end of August. I'll shout you before I leave, give you a sporting chance to vacate the county wink

Hurrah! If you're in Devizes we'll book a table at the teashop or something.

I'm looking on Ebay at the moment actually, it looks promising price-wise but with tax exempt Landrovers I'd really want to have a physical poke at it first. Check wiring, brakes and rust. I've practically renovated this car, and now I just want one that will work with only occasional prodding and tightening.

As for BMWs, if I ever get one...it'll look like this one.

You didn't visit Portsmouth, or even Greenwich? I'm there everyday (alright, I do live here, but still). Major British history. Tisk tisk.

Alas no, we didn't get past Devon when the brakes gave up. Greenwich I know already anyway.

Still, we took the car out for a test-drive yesterday and it seems like we're back to most-systems go which is nice, because I have to drive to Lampeter quite soon.
