The Undead Suitor Yeata Zi Can someone explain the Brony phenomenon to me. I really... just don't understand. See, the most recent iteration of the "My Little Pony" show is actually a really good cartoon focusing on character development and interesting plots that encourage teamwork and friendship. This of course, has led to it being enjoyed by far more than its target demographic. As in...guys like it too. But see, guys are a little defensive when it comes to liking a "girls show", and feel that they need some sort of special fan nickname to separate themselves from the girls. So they call themselves "Bronies" in a transparent move to masculinate watching a show about pink ponies with cutie marks.

it's like it was made for the internet.
Honestly, I've never seen the show. But seeing as how I enjoy Generator Rex, I can see how a cartoon can be more than the sum of its parts at the end. |

The whole "boiz liking gurl showzzz" and so memes sprouted out. So it convinced a lot of people to give it a go. And a lot of people ended up liking it. And so it became popular. It was bound to become popular though, it really was. |

But I tend to enjoy cartoons more than other things.
I dunno that I could watch a show about ponies, though.
I didn't like little girl shows when I was a little girl... so I am unlikely to change now--even for a highly quotable internet sensation. |
