Amber began practicing on the dummies as soon as she could. She pointed out it and said, "Confringo!" She dropped her wand when it backfired and frowned. "I don't think charms involving fire like me very much Professor."

She picked her wand up and tried again, "Confringo!" She smiled gleefully as the dummy burst in to flames, but then stopped, realizing that probably seemed sadistic.

She then moved on to the Severing Charm. Pointing at the dummy, she slashed her wand and said, "Diffindo!" The slash made was relatively deep and a small bit of stuffing stuck out. She grinned in satisfaction.

Amber then went to the owl cages and found one to clean. "Scourgify!" The spell backfired and she shook her head.

"Scourgify," she tried again. Once again, the charm backfired and Amber sighed but didn't give up.

"Scourfiy," she said, determined to get it this time. Unfortunately, it backfired again, and she wondered why she was having so much trouble with a simple simple cleaning spell.

She took a deep breath. "Scourfy!" Amber sighed in relief as most of the droppings disappeared. She thought she was going to be there forever. But then again practice does make perfect!
