When we sent exchange students to the States, they were seriously asking us whether we still used horse and carriage, and whether we even had electricity and if we knew what a microwave oven was.

It's hard to stop yourself from stereotyping Americans after that. XD

You know what's weird and funny? People think we (Canadians) are all amerindians. xd But our souvenir stores don't help, since they sell all kind of amerindian stuff, AND of course maple syrup. The thing is, we are not amerindian at all (you could compare us to Americans, really... Normal people), and our lives aren't all about maple syrup. Wtf! xd Tourists go back home with a fake idea of us lol

I think everyone deals with the entire narrow-minded people who think that people from a country are all the same. I hate it when people try to imitate the English accent. It's really cringe-worthy.

And plus, we don't ALL drink tea and watch Mary Poppins over here.
Or at least, I should hope not. xD

And ACTUALLY, I like the U.K. for its many accents. I specifically went out of my way to unlearn my American-sounding English when I came there to replace it with the Southern English accent of Dorset. And I -love- how the Scots and Irish sound. I try to copy it. ninja Accents are win.

I honestly don't pay much attention to accents. I mean I can tell when people have an accent but I don't really think much of it.
Although there is on thing I've always wondered....is there a way of speaking that Europeans refer to as an American accent?
