It's meant and was made to hold 360KB. You see, just like hard drives, Floppy disks grew in storage size and shrunk in physical size. Early floppy disks were 8", and then 5", and then the 3 1/2" ones you see today.
Hard drives have done the same thing.
This is a FIVE MEGABYTE hard drive circa 1979. It's about the size of an entire computer tower today, and the machine it went down into was about the size of a washer or dryer. gonk
Today, an iPod Video has a 30GB or 80GB hard drive inside, and that's roughly 30,000-80,000 megabytes.
