Oh yeah- when I started watching, I couldn't figure out people called Yeoman Janice, Yeoman. It's a boys name. I had to look it up on wiki to find out it was her job title.

And later on, when i heard the Enterprise was a real ship ((Nuclear powered aircraft carrier, decommisioned. Relegated to museum.)) I wanted to go see it so maybe I would se Picard.

I never realized that TNG was a cross-racial show. I read an article by a fairly racial person that was talking about the racial lines being crossed on the show...all I could think was that there were no racial lines, unless you're thinking about different species. I never realized Worf was anything but Klingon.
