For the past two weeks or so, I've had a cold, and at first I could still kind of sing, but now it feels like every not I hit is strained or like just horrible/ messed up...whatever.
Is there ANYTHING I could do to help my voice in my current situation?
DD: probably not....

D=!
Not cool when that happens.
If anything, I suggest tea. It helps me when I get a cold. =3

hello! i've been in ur situation b4......
i mean my sister...lol
so here's wat my sis does to help her sing better biggrin
b4 she performs..at least an hour or two before...she vocalizes...using tongue-trills..or lip-trills..very simple stuff
(just a word of warning..lip-trills make u look retarded sweatdrop )
so that thing just helps..and drink a lot of water and rest a lot biggrin
that helps

Hot milk with honey and lemon scrapes (is that the word for it?). Black beer with sugar may also work. In case of emergency, try eating a lemon - just eating it, like you'd eat an orange. It's not very lasting, but it works.

That happened to me the night before a concert one time. My chorus teacher, Mr. P., said to "sing through the snot"
JUst aim your sound toward the bridge of your nose, and you should have a pretty good, clear sound. It worked for me.

I've noticed that when my throat hurts really bad that tea or hot water workd the best. Milk just irritates your throat and makes singing uncomfortable. just drink lots of water, and try to get better. Take your flinstones vitamins.
