When I was younger we had a MAFIA
so to speak of asians around my neighborhood...
We did so much stuff together! We were all close and
considered each other Kuyas and Ates! (Tagalog for bros and sistas!)
We collected snails and raced them- placed bets and named them....
We biked around...
Played Pokemon...
Played videogames - You see all these asians watching
one person play FF7 or Mortal Kombat! xd
We ate RAW, UNCOOKED ramen w/ the powdered sauce and
shared it....
We had parties at each others houses (which were like
right next to each other...

But now all of them are in different cities...
But the memories are still here - I'll be the last of my asian
mafia to move out of town.

My questions to you folks is:

1.) What was your child hood like?
2.) What types of things did you do?
3.) what types of things did you eat?
4.) Did you have an asian mafia or gang or hangout buddies?
5.) What are some of your fondest memories as an asian growing up?

For it is our memories that keeps us close
in our hearts and in our souls that will never leave our minds!

1. Simple, but fun. The best things in life are free, and video games.
2. Play games, eat food, go shoot stuff, make tree forts, had fights, and helped each other when needed.
3. Anything in my fridge.
4. Hangout buddy, my best friend, but now he's moved, and with high school and everything, it's hard to keep in touch. T.T
5. My best friend, influencing each other into how we are now.

1. Fun, but you know typical.
2. Played outside really.
3. Rice and Kimchi. xD
4. Not a lot of asians in my area, but I do have a group of friends and we hangout out and play soccer, go over each others houses and go to the movies together.
5. The little white kids saying it's a chinese boy. xD And being the smartest.

1.) What was your child hood like?
Well, since I was carefree about the world, it was enjoyable.

2.) What types of things did you do?
Play with my childhood friends. There's one called "House," where there's a mommy, a daddy, and their children. xd I chose to be a sister. But that's only part of it.

3.) what types of things did you eat?
Hmm...anything that my parents feed me? xD;

4.) Did you have an asian mafia or gang or hangout buddies?
Well, when I started elementary school, I was with a "gang." I was the only girl there. And, man! DID WE CAUSE A LOTTA TROUBLE BACK THEN! >3 But it was fun...

5.) What are some of your fondest memories as an asian growing up? All the attention I got? D'x -sniffle- Made me feel wanted, accepted, and loved. You can say I was a bit bratty, naughty, noisy, little girl under that sweet, cute, angelic face. ;3

3.) I ate a sh*t load of chinese/vietnamese food. =.=
4.) Hangout buddies.....they were just some group of annoying Asian boys that picked on me, so I would always punch them. ;D
5.) Hrm.....fondest memo?? That would have to be the unneeded karaoke that was played during occasions. x3

4.) Did you have an asian mafia or gang or hangout buddies?
My Asian Mafia are my Pinoy/pinays.

One more night , I wanna be with you
Where I wanna hold you tight…

1.) What was your childhood like?
Filled with loads of nice memories that I wish I could live again and again and again. :B Also, I was marked by many traumatizing stories that became funny ones that I would tell my buddies.
2.) What types of things did you do?
I would go biking and roller blading in my neighborhood with all my friends that lived near to my house. We would "borrow" stuff from the gocery store. I remember dancing in the rain a lot, source of most of my caught colds . The best thing to do while I was bored was to play Pokemon with my brother around the house, I would be Ash and my brother being forced to be Misty. xD Other than that, I know I always wanted to seek for fun.
3.) what types of things did you eat?
Jello, cookies, candies.. Good stuff, what. :U
4.) Did you have an asian mafia or gang or hangout buddies?
Not really. I had a few Asian friends that I would always stick to and they would too. I prefered to get along with everyone I could, though. Result, a couple of girls started hating me for getting close to boys easily.. but I didn't care. In fact, I never noticed it..
5.) What are some of your fondest memories as an asian growing up?
"(Mom) You be doctor, ok?"

It feels so right
To
night…

1. Easy and carefree, pretty much.
2. I played Pokemon...and lots of it. I managed to get my Jolteon up to level 100. And yes, I used the classic Missingno cheat to get lots of items. xp
3. I loved eating BBQ; I remember that my family always used to eat at a restraunt called Black Angus. I even attempted to eat the Instant Ramen raw with the powder as well.
4. I only had a group in the yearly summer camp. We all loved Pokemon and we traded cards and 'roleplayed' them too. The playground represented the different cities in the Kanto region.
5. The times when everything was easy and fun, without anyone's criticism...I think that's one of the things a lot of us miss.

1.) My family was poor before, we literally lived in a straw house in the back alley. Then, my dad baught 2 acres of land and made a house from scratch.

2.) I used to play with tops with my old friends, we would always get our tops and see who could last the longest. We also used to play with marbles. We would draw a circle on the ground and just start playing for the whole day.

3.) I ate LOTS of rice and corned beef. On occassion (Is that how you spell it?) we would eat some ramen.

4.) Hang out buddies I guess. We'd hang out in an abandoned house and just play hide n' seek or pretend we were big successful business men.

5.) I don't know what you mean by fondest but, to my understanding you meaning my best memory? Well, I always remember the guy working hours walking around selling balut ( For those of you that don't know what it is, it is a boiled fermented duck egg, quite the delicacy.) and me and my family would buy some and sit out on the porch eating our balut.

Thanks for this, this might sound corny but it's nice to think about the past once in a while.

1.) What was your child hood like?
I'd say typical childhood. Not a whole lot of exciting things. I got to travel a lot, though.
2.) What types of things did you do?
Study. Play childish games with my little bro.
3.) what types of things did you eat?
I had the uncooked ramen with the powder too, a lot. My mom and I would lightly break it in the back, pour the powder in, and shake it. Then share it. smile
4.) Did you have an asian mafia or gang or hangout buddies?
Nah. Not many asians where I lived. Of the very few asians, we all made friends though. smile
5.) What are some of your fondest memories as an asian growing up?
Hm. Nothing special. I was teased a lot for being Asian, actually. Everyone expected me to be some Jackie Chan martial arts master, or braniac...

We...
-ate hot cheetos a lot
-rocked at tetherball, hardcore
-had shoes that lit up when you walked...or if you had the velcro shoes, you criss-crossed them because they were cool
-were into gel pens
-ate spicy powdered raw noodles (like you said xD)
-played with these things kinda like jacks, except they were from Asian stores and were 3D hexagonal looking
-had walk-at-thons

and more...but I can't remember them all at this moment.

Yay for reminesing. xDD

1. My childhood was so fun. I felt like a leader because so many people liked me.

2. Me and my "family" and one white person and one hispanic always play tennis and soccer. It was the best thing and occasionally some of our friends showed up.

3. We didn't eat anything lol we all just complained how hungry we were.

4. I had a "family". I'm the daughter, I had a brother (the hispanic one), a dad and a mom (I'm older than both), and a dog (the white one) xDD.

5. I didn't have any memories as an Asian growing because I was just surrounded by them. I guess I can't tell the difference.
