im also an athiest because i've found interesting things about the bible. i've read a lot, and began to notice certian things that didnt quite make sense. the bible seems to contridict itself. in the story of adam and eve, as you are well aware o f, im sure, says how the two people had two sons by the names of caine and abel. when caine kills abel, do u notice how he didnt know what he had done. he didnt know he had killed because it had never been done before. so how did he know how to strike abel's head to kill him? and towards the end, caine, in fear, tell his mother how he does not want to be exiled because he is scare "They" or "The Others" out there will kill him. if it was only, adam, eve, caine, and abel. who are the others that he was refering to? and the mark that god placed upon him, why doesnt the bible speak of that?

and one again they don't' have much knowledge theres lots of things that could be out there that the referred to as them, or the others, gorillas could be mistaken as humans too, it's human flaw

Dave Dave -Isel- You do realize that every code of morals that humans have ever passed down through the generations have been spawned by religions, right? Yes, of course they have, it made us feel like we were pleasing our God, and that's what everyone did long ago. If they didn't believe in the god, they were banished or executed. In other words, we're all followers of something. The human race is so smart!
Actually Buddhism, which predates modern morality and Christianity doesn't have Deities, its an ideal of which one attains self improvement and inner peace, through a strong moral code. Ergo Morality, isn't dependent on theism.
