She was half curled up against a tree in the park, shivering despite the heat in the air and cursing heavily in German, Luana wasn't the happiest of souls when injured, which was to be expected though. A series of coughs racked her body making her clutch at her chest as she tried to breath, some would say the healing powers of immortal's was a miracle, right now it was pointless to her, couldn't heal around something after all. And a sword was a painfully thing to have in one's body, what was worse was that she didn't have a way to remove it, the hilt had broken off. Sure it would kill her, slowly, in a few hours maybe, anywhere from three to six, she didn't exactly have it written in her plans to die or anything along those lines. But she hadn't planned on being challenged either, sadly that was never included in her plans, sure she had won, and the quickening had fried her phone so she couldn't call anyone for help.

At some point someone was going to notice the decapitated body and the petite woman in pain in the park, the only reason why it was unnoticed right now was it was two in the morning. She blamed it on the fact that it was always people bigger then her that challenged her, that made the fight a bit uneven when they outweighed her by ninety or more pounds, add in strength and most would think of her as an easy target. Not that she made herself out to be one, she knew how to use her size to her advantage in a fight, it was normally after the fact that someone could come up and finish her without problem, like now.

Feeling vulnerable was not one her strong points which might explain why she took a moment to hit the tree she was against, that only brought a sharp gasp of pain from her it was better then feeling like she was going to cry. Movement hurt, that was the first thing she learned as she tried to figure out what exactly the sword was piercing, at lest a lung was for sure, most likely more given the person had gotten under her ribs and angled it up. She had already dug at the entry point to try to get a hold of it and pull it out, no luck, between the slick blood and the fact her hands were shaking it wasn't going to do her any good.

The only thing she really had going for her was that she did have her gun, she didn't even know where her sword had gone, not that she was particularly attached to it or anything. Oh wait, she did know where her sword was, that was the sword in her at the moment, how did she forget about that, the freaken a** hole had overpowered her and gotten it from her, which would be why she had such problems. Okay so she didn't know where their sword was, mostly likely near the body, not that she was willing to crawl over and look. If she perchance happened to sense, or even think she sensed another immortal she might get enough will power to go get it, whilst she prepaid to shoot them a few times, at the moment screw the rules. That only proved how much pain she was in, she was very much the type of person to follow rules to the T, and now she just didn't care.

Another thought hit her and made her turn cold, say in the morning she was found, then what? Gets carted off to the hospital, yeah that would go over really well. Her curses kicked up a notch, enough it dropped her whole high-class lady bit and proved that she had a not so high class side. See now she was hoping a bloody clean up crew would come, maybe someone would be kind enough to be helpful, or at lest move her a** somewhere, by this point she wasn't caring, she did not need to become and experiment for the little hospitals. She almost laughed, almost, started to even but hells it hurt to much, so stuck with just focusing on not crying, that was easier and she didn't have to move to do it, and could even still mutter curses, though had moved on to other languages by this point. It was at that point that she vowed she was never going to another park, ever, ever ever even, parks had rather much lost their charm by this point, she'd stick to cities, she was more a city girl anyway, and they seemed a little safer now.

Duncan had been tracking Gordon for over an hour now, ever since the psycho had panicked out of their fight and ran. Normally the Highlander would have let him go, but the Immortal serial killer was too dangerous to let run any longer. Too many innocent women had died at his hands.

As he crossed the dark expanse of the park in the early morning hours, the faint spark of Immortal presence struck him. Pulling his katana, the Scot began searching for the source, hoping it was Gordon.

On that she honestly flipped to a few English curses mixed in the long string of words, okay she could take back the bad thought of going to the hospital? She'd much prefer that for the moment. None the less, shakingly, she tried to get to her feet, and almost tripping on her own damned dress, that was a first for her, well minus that one time she was drunk stupid, but this was different all together. The tree helped a lot in her task, she never thought standing would be so hard, but she did, and clicked the safety off the handgun, it was a .38 cal, that was good for her at lest, it'd leave a big hole.

The fun part was trying to steady herself enough that her aim wouldn't completely suck, that turned out to be impossible, her hands were shaking to much, okay maybe she was just shivering to much. Then the dull thought hit her, she was in shock, she should have thought of that earlier, she had a doctors licenses and the schooling to back it up, had even practiced for a good long time only recently quitting because she was worn out. She could only go so long with people dieing around her, or pulling pieces of people together, or anything like that, sure it was nice to help people out but...she was so off topic, had to be shock.

She wondered if she asked really nicely and promised a fight another time if they would leave her along, okay she would in their shoes, but that was because she was too nice for her own good most the time. Other's though, most likely not, she wasn't going to call out, oh yes because she really wanted to tell them where she was, okay so most likely they would find her anyway. Till then she had time to try to calm, oh, and maybe seek out the dead a**'s sword, yeah her thought process was really slow right now.

Oh lookie, there was a sword, way not what she was use to, now she had to convince herself to go get it... with that she sighed, then whimpered, note to self, DON"T SIGH! No, she wasn't going to get the sword, that was okay, she'd stick to the gun for the moment and pray she got really lucky and they got annoyed and left. Yeah, that'd be nice, so would rum at the moment. The random thoughts was getting on her nerves now, but she tried to ignore them and waited halfway calmly at lest, not even noticing her vision was starting to blur.

The sound of shifting material, a tiny sigh, the sharp iron smell of blood... the click of an automatic as a bullet was chambered. Duncan froze, listening, letting the deep shadows of the trees shield him. Crouching, he edged around, seeking.

The sight of a large body lieing half in shadow and half in moonlight caught his attention, and he slid cautiously toward it, trying as best he could to remain cloaked in darkness.

"Bitte stoppen, wo du bist." Her tone was soft, shaking though not in fear, in fact even in her state there wasn't a drop of fear in her. She was out of it enough that she didn't even notice that she spoke in german, she couldn't have flipped tongues if her life depended on it though, right now it was too automatic. Course given it seemed the person was near the body she really wasn't getting the sword now, so the gun would have to do for the moment. She was calming down some, practice more than anything, enough to steady her hand some at lest, it might have been wiser to do a two handed shooting position but she was at lest hoping to slow blood flow.

She ended up putting most her weight against the tree, it'd help with kick back if she did have to shoot someone, but that wasn't the main reason, she felt like she was going puke for one, not the best feeling at a time like this. It was more a dizziness then anything thankfully, lightheaded and dizzy, which wasn't all that good but there was worse.

"Wirklich ziemlich nicht Kampf im Augenblick, bitte so weggehen." Hey, might as well try asking nicely, besides at the moment she really didn't have anything else to say.

(okay so I'm in a hurry cause I have work in a few min, but I think I might have messed up the last sentence in german, sorry, suppose to translate to: 'Really rather not fight at the moment, so please go away.' But I think I got a tense or two mixed up, heh.)

It was a woman's voice, shaking with pain. And the headless body of Ty Gordon was hardly the source of the buzz MacLeod still felt, albeit weak and thready. The owner of the voice was dying. His mind instantly translated the German, his time spent as a spy for the English in WWII coming to the fore.

"Einfach," he said, turning toward the voice. He could barely make out a form leaning against the tree's trunk, cloaked in darkness. "Ich bedeute Sie kein Schaden."

He laid his katana in the grass near him then spread his hands. "Lassen Sie mich Ihnen helfen."

She would have laughed softly but knew better then to even try, what were the odds of someone nice? Very very little, which would be why she didn't lower the gun, " Warum?" It was a legitimate question, it was rare that any immortal was willing to help out of the kindness of their heart, very rare indeed, she certainly didn't unless she knew the person before hand. "Kanntest du ihn?" That question was a bit bitter in sound, she wasn't even trying for her normal musical tone, no point in it at the moment. "Deinen Namen geben." Not that in her state she was sure she should kick up her memory for names, but she had researched most immortals, if it was a name she at lest could match in her head with a personality and history she could make up her mind.

The more she spoke the more familiar the voice became, though it was distorted by pain and desperate defiance. "Luana?" he asked, surprised. "It's me, Duncan MacLeod."

She was honestly startled enough to hear her own name that she that she blinked a few times, which actually helped her vision much to her joy, "Duncan?" Well she went from annoyance to surprise rather quickly, "Heraus für einen Mitternachtsweg?"

"I was tracking this guy," he said, switching to English. "We were fighting and he ran." He edged closer, cautiously reaching for the gun she still held, now that his eyes were adjusting to the extra darkness under the tree. "What were you doing out here?"

She didn't seem to mind him reaching for the gun, her hand shaking bad enough she willingly handed it to him, not caring if he was going to turn around and shoot her, her mind not even thinking of that, only that shooting him by accendent wouldn't be wise. It took her mind a few seconds to try to speak english, and even then it held the german tilt to it bad enough she might as well stuck to german. "Couldn't sleep, thought a walk in the park would be relaxing." Relaxing, that didn't happen, a far cry from it even

Duncan's hand closed over the gun as she handed it to him, then laid it aside. "Let's take a look at what you've done to yourself," he said softly, his large sure hands assessing the damage by feel. He found the sword blade firmly wedged into the tree, pinning Luana to it, and that the blade had been broken off at the hilt.

He knew what he had to do to free her, and it made him shudder a bit, but she was dying too slowly to wait. "I can help you," he said, touching her pale cheeks with fingers smeared with her blood. "It's going to hurt, but I'll go as quickly as I can. Will you let me?"

She closed her eyes a moment to think about it, words taking a few moments to make sense in her mind, she was going farther into shock, the fact she could think at all pointed out how clear minded she was on a normal day. Finally she nodded, opening her eyes, the normal soft blue color washed out her out given she was paler then normal, or maybe it was the hollow look to them. "It's angled upward." Of course, because otherwise she might have been able to help herself, she hated having to rely on help, she hadn't needed help in a long time, it was degrading to need it now.

"I know," he said. "You can't get any leverage." And even if she could, she was too weak with blood loss to try it.

He caught hold of her narrow shoulders, holding her firmly with both hands. This will probably kill her, but the respite will be a relief, he thought. "Ready?" he said aloud.

She almost had a spark of anger, not at him, but life in general, not that it did any good and died a moment later. She met his eyes with a bit of trouble, "Yes...Don't leave me here, please?" She wasn't pleading but it was close, close enough it bothered her to add a second later, "Never mind, just go ahead."
