me and the boyfriend rented that movie this weekend, too. It definitely wasn't what I expected.
*light spoilers following*
The back of the dvd explains that it's 2027, most major cities have been destroyed, except of course Britain. Before the movie begins, pregnant women are having miscarriages and there are no new pregnancies. The world is freaking out. There are bombings, everything is a police-like state, scaryscary. Main character dude, who used to be an activist in his early years, finds himself back with a bunch of hippy activists that are hiding out the world's first pregnant woman in 18 years. The movie goes through his adventure keeping her alive through utter chaos. There's many characters you get attached to... and well, they die. Don't get attached, or you'll cry like me and Shadow_Wanderess.
